Ships flown: Moa and Thorax, with a small guest appearance of the Ferox and shield Rupture.
This is the fourth and last video of the Hunt saga.
A strong emphasis on lowsec solo, in the form of trying to separate pirate gangs, and get pilots to take GCC against you as much as possible. Cheap fitting suggestions, all the passive mods are always visible.
I did not intend to release another video until October, but now made the decision to release what I gathered so far, as I am completely leaving Eve for now. So releasing what I got is much better than nothing :-) As I didn't have enough worthy fights to put, I mix added some other stuff in between fights, to make the movie more about the fighting spirit and love of the game, rather than just cool fights.
I do love this game very much, but I am choosing to let it go for the foreseeable future, my sub ends October and I don't intend to renew for at least another year. Then we shall see how things go :-)
Two reasons for that. First and most importantly is a real-life circumstance that denies me of time to roam.
Second is an ingame mechanic- ECM drones, that makes the very little time I have to roam, into an almost futile extreme-uphill constant climb, at least to the way I like to play.
My true love of Eve is solo PvP. I like small gangs but as long as I play my main activity will be solo.
Out of every ~10 roams, in the way the game is right now, I get about 1 fight I can somehow manage solo. I am well aware that a pilot can get solo fights very quickly in highsec systems, per-arranging and agreeing on fights, but for me that completely kills the hunt and I lose the most important element that makes me adore this game- the hunt :-) So, 10 roams take very long to actually happen with the little time my real-life leaves for Eve, say about a week or two. And simply put, my experience is that ECM drones tend to take away that small 1/10 or 2/10 fights and kind of ruin that as well. So in other words, I did the math and figured out that the time I have to spend to get nice fights, spread throughout my RL, atm is just utterly unreasonable for me. That is my personal choice. If I had more time, as I used to have while making the Rupture videos, I honestly wouldn't mind continuing to fight against the odds.

Sad to see you go mate. But RL always has nr 1 priority.
Great video and it's nice to see that you have put our feedback into good use. Hopefully i will within the next month begin making my own videos, and hopefully they will be able to fill the gap you leaves.

Great video! Really enjoyed watching it.
During the video I kept thinking, if only every new player would see this as he starts up the game for the very first time, the game probably would be a lot better for it. |

only a few ships allow to fit smartbombs without making the fitting terrible, so its not really a solution |

It was aiiight for what you're doing, but I don't particularly care for fights with sentry guns on your side. It does not accurately portray what your ship is actually capable of, but if you're having fun making these videos, by all mean do not stop.
I can say i'm only -10 so people will shoot at ME, but unfortunately it sometimes has the opposite effect, mostly from ignorant highsec dwellers that have only the most rudimentary concepts of aggression mechanics and still somehow still don't know that -10's are kill on sight anywhere.
It becomes very annoying even when the odds are still 2 to 1, hell even upwards to 10 to 1 odds against me that pilots STILL need sentries on their side. Very discouraging.

I suppose it comes as no surprise that I thought you video was great. This, usually, is where I go into detail about fights. However, I'm going to forego that part for something more important:

It's a real shame to lose such an exemplary solo PvPer such as yourself. You've provided a good fight when we have met without fail, and (more importantly) you've always been a good guy. If you leave, I hope the Eve addiction we all experience drags you back soon (even if you don't ).

Nooo, one of my favourite community members is leaving :(
The state of solo in this game is indeed embarassing. CCP have created the best game to ever play solo (imo) by making a game in which a smart player can take on extreme odds and still stand a chance in situations a newbie would consider flat-out impossible.
And then they gave us the finger and included ECM as well. The wider community really needs to wake up and stop complaining about all sorts of minor balancing issues (nerf link ships, blah blah, nerf tr3 bc's, blah blah) when the longest-running and most severe imbalance in the game is flying out of every ships drone bay in every fight (yet these same people who always say "boohoo, suck it up and learn to deal with ECM" will complain the next minute that tengus and links are overpowered and need nerfing).
/end rant (if anyone insists on arguing with me over this please mail me, don't start shitposting in aldaps vid thread)

I like your attitude , why (solo) PvP if it is just about stats(km's).. go out there, have fun and be creative, loose ships..

Man, EVE is a heavy load on most players, so take a break of couple month from it and return. Don't do anything dumb like deleting or selling your toons, like some folk do, only to regret.
Still you managed to make good proper movies about on how to hunt for a prey, and not only about those 3 red bars going down quickly on a prey. Usually if someone tries your aproach on their videos, they get absolutely trolled, but you succeded pretty well.
Get some "vacations" from eve and get back on the horse. I'm sure a guy like ya will manage to find more stuff to do on EVE and succeed!

So we'll have to see how life goes :-) In December I'm actually flying abroad for 6months+ to travel in the far east without internet connection, so I'll have a lot of catching up to do on all the videos you guys will be making. By the time I'm back home, about a year from now,I'll probably be drowned by so many amazing videos that I'll have no choice but to fly a bit more :-) We'll see.

Inspirational and amazing, AMAZING video! Innovative setups and flying of them. I'm gonna recommend this as a download to this friend of mine, I'm teaching the basics of pvp.
... and hat's off to you, Aldap! You managed to catch the essence of what EVE is to me and turned it into a video. I've downloaded this vid and will be looking for all your other installments - but this one will stay on my hard drive forever as a reminder of why I'm playing this game.
