I love their songs actually, sure they are kinda cheesy at times. But they're enjoyable and humamble to. Altho i think mirror mirror is a bigger favourite or theatre of pain. But they make good power metal songs overall.

Borgore - Guided Relaxation Dub
I have to say that I may be able to get into that which is xcalled dub/gore step.
I am not sure if the following two are obscure, but the groups are new to me and not styles I typically listen to.
Shiny Toy Guns cover of David Bowie's Major Tom
and
Lindstr°m & Christabelle - Lovesick If this song ever comes on in a club I am at I will burn the floor up.

Hello Madness - Emotions. Hello Madness is an awesome band/ project. It's a shame that they're not very well known.

Add me to that list. I like them. Not a personal favorite (power metal in general I can only take so much of) but I will listen to them from time to time. Kinda funny though that you say they're obscure; they are one of the most influential and popular power metal groups on the planet. I digress though, because outside of the metal community, like with most metal groups, they are virtually unknown.
Speaking of metal, I've taken a liking to this new thrash metal band. I like thrash even less than power metal, so the fact that with only one album these guys impressed me is saying something.

Well... thats not really about Burzum, more about the rise of norwegian black metal in general.
But yea, thats why I said "depends on what you consider obscure"...

I was being kinda facetious, I like Burzum... though unfortunately, from the little I've read, the movie does focus on the sensationalistic side of the story, having Vikerness and his criminal activities as the protagonists, not the raise of the Norwegian Black Metal in the early '90s, which just acts as a backdrop.
Apparently they even got some guy from Twilight to play Varg, and I'm going to wager the movie is targetting that very bankable audience.

I watched Until The Light Takes Us some time ago, but I have to say I found it somewhat disappointing... the guys who made it reportedly had no prior knowledge of Black Metal, and it shows: there's not much in the way of narrative, structure or insight about how the Norwegian scene came to be, influences it took and influences it spread, the sounds, broad spectrum of bands, etc.. it had a pretty limited scope.
If you are already familiar with BM, you'll still enjoy the interviews there, namely those with Varg and Fenriz - but if you are not, you'll get a bunch of seemingly random people telling disjointed anecdotes, this and thats, as well as countless shots of churches burning, the murder and so on.
I enjoyed this other BM documentary more, or even this one VBS made (though it soon ends up solely focusing on Gaahl's figure). There was another one on the Chinese Youtube just about Mayhem's history that was pretty good and lengthy, but I don't seem to be able to find it anymore.

Steering the thread back on track now, I liked that video of three Japanese gals playing noise someone posted earlier on this thread (Nissennenmondai), that was pretty cool - so here's something they made me think of (but different): Gallhammer - Crucifixion.

A couple of years ago I had a thing for obscure sludge metal and believed it made me an Awesome Person, I'd like to think I'm past that now but anyway. Do you like pretentious obscure sludge? Because here is some! Lesbian - Black Forest Hamm (hur hur they're called Lesbian) Electric Wizard - Funeralopolis (I guess they're not really obscure. Are they? I don't know.) Extra pretentious and sludgy: Toadliquor - Gnaw
And something a little more upbeat Church of Misery - Megalomania
