Got my first important/storyline mission since the patch and it still requires a 13 jump trip for 75k credits and 500 units of carbon.
Still looks a bit grim to me. What was wrong with the old way?

Edited by: Hobbsalong on 17/12/2004 21:29:04 Started doing missions last night (been playing eve for 3months).
First important mission (6jumps) - kill 2 mercenary rookies. 32,000 ISK + Engineeringsomething skill
Second important mission (11jumps) - Kill 4 mercenary rookies. 25,000 ISK with bonus 23,000ISK.
Pretty lame if you ask me.

What really puzzles me about these storyline missions... they are labeled important, and say they will have significant impact on my faction... but they are not even from the corp I am trying to build faction with, they give me decent faction with a corp I care nothing about. |

I got an important mission today, it took me 19 jumps away from my safe harbour into deep Syndicate 0.0 space. The reward was 63k ISK and from a lvl 2 agent.
It's OK if they reduced the number of jumps and added some really big factor due to the circumstances I was given. Lemme just say there were plenty of pirates wanting to tear my ship apart and not only of NPC kind. 63k ISK in reward for a mission that would have killed someone not being cautious while travelling..

Edited by: Celt Eireson on 17/12/2004 22:58:03 Had two important missions since the patch both 14/15 jumps away (i.e. 30 jump round trip), both nothing to write home about in terms of reward.
Ohhh and that's for a level 3.

I had an 18 jump round trip for an important mission, when my typhoon finally lumbered over there, I was told that the mission target had already been killed by the minmatar ships that were at the rendezvous point, so I should go back again. I should of taken a shuttle.
iirc, got less than 100K for it and a +1 implant. Fun it was not. |

18 jumps here...
The following rewards and bonuses will be yours if you complete this mission: 140000 credits. thirteen units of Station Container will be awarded to you as a bonus if you complete the mission within 45 minutes.
grrrr, lvl 3.. and I atleast got a +1 implant before :(
------ The future, according to some scientists, will be exactly like the past, only far more expensive. John Sladek |

Yeah, I'm spinning my wheels because I get these random "important" missions from agents I don't care about, but I sure as heck can turn them down, so I have to sidetrack to basically get no reward.

I did do the mission, and whilst it took me the best part of an hour and the rewards were rubbish at least the standing increase is fixed and I received a welcome 3% increase to my faction standing.
Of course, I only got the corp standing for whatever odd corp the storyline agent is aligned with. That does beg the question of how new players are going to move up the corp standing very quickly now.

Standing Increase = good
Having to go 3 jumps deep in 0.2 = not as good
3* Broker Relations (80k skillpack) as bonus = poor.
Why not have the +4 implants as the ones from the crazy 70k LP offers, and give us the +3's back in important (storyline) missions? |

Yup please do something about it.
I cannot fly anything better than a kestrel (oke I can fly a destroyer but still) I needed to fly 13 jumps of which the last 5 were 0.3 space or less. This is to much for me :(

I may be wrong and if so let me know but as far as doing agents from another corp then the one you are doing plays no part. When you are doing regular missions for your agent you get corp and personal standing ONLY. When you do a Storyline (important ) you get Faction standing. Just a bit of info for anyone not sure how to ck this out:
If you go to your Char sheet and go to standings tap you can right click all three (faction, corp and agent) and show transactions and it shows you your increases.
As long as the Agent you are sent to is part of the faction that you are doing missions for (Caldari, Amarr, etc..) you are getting a Faction increase. I hope this helps some.

I sit there hugging my knees and crying about this. I have always used Agents for standing gain, the rewards and loot, good bad or ugly have been of secondary importance.
With no more important missions for the faction I'm actually working for, it makes it a real chore now to gain standing especially for, let's say, science characters who wish to get that jump from Level 3 to Level 4 R&D agents.
Bring back Important Missions with good standing increases!!!!
Or I'll sit here, hugging my knees and crying - even more!!!
