Each ticket is assigned a number, they are ordered in the sequence they were received.
At the time of the drawing, a request is put out to the people in the drawing channel. They are asked to say a number of their choice that exceeds the amount of tickets sold. Those numbers called out in the next 10 or so seconds are then used to determine the winning ticket.
The numbers are added together.
The result is divided by the number of tickets sold.
The remainder is the winning ticket.
At least that is how I understand it. Someone more in the know can correct me if needed. It is a modulous calculation.

If I remember right, it's what you said above, but with a pre-determined multiplier number for the total of the numbers presented in the chat. Thus to keep a group of people from trying their best to rig the lotto by getting them and 10 or so friends to spam the numbers in for one of them to win.
