Looking for a fit to potentially run through a few jumps of lowsec with. This is the best combo of EHP and GTFO I've found for the orca... suggestions?

Okay, 4 things become apparent here.
1. An Afterburner is not going to make you go very fast (probably adds an extra 50m/s at the most). If you intend on sprinting back to the gate to avoid fire, you'll need a Microwarpdrive. Even then it's kinda iffy considering the Orca's sheer size and agility (you can be bumped quite easily).
2. The small neutralizers do not have much range or cap stealing ability to be much of a threat against Interceptors or frigates. Go with Large Energy Neutralizers.
3. Warfare Links only work if you have more than 2 people in fleet in the same system.
4. You don't have enough of a buffer. Play with your mid slots and fit more [large] shield extenders.
Overall, no amount of fitting will ever replace a scout ship (preferably a "combat" scout) that checks the systems ahead. Orcas are quite defenseless. _______________________

I tend to agree on the afterburner; I didn't have the grid to fit an MWD.
As far ss the link - this is actually supposed to be "with a support gang" but I missed it in the second post attempt (5 minute delay ate my first, sorry).

Replace one of your shield rigs with an ancillary current router. This gives you enough grid for a MWD. Replace your afterburner with a MWD. Replace your i-stab with a Reinforced Bulkhead II. Stick an Improved Cloaking Device II on it. Use a scout. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

Edited by: Ka choop on 12/07/2010 22:45:26 Keep the afterburner, an Orca can't realisticly fit a microwardrive. You can do the microwarpdrive trick also with an afterburner but it takes 2 cycles to get enough speed to warp.
If you have help, get some buddies to web you, allign, get a bit of speed and them let em go mad with the webbers and you will instantly hit warp. But.............the ones webbing you MUST be in the same corp or the gateguns will shoot them.
I don't know but maybe an ECM burst or pointed ECM or so might help, smartbombs in the highs? (I think I stand corrected on my point on the MWD, I didn't try enough options to fit the MWD I guess)

Listen to Gavin, he has the best advice in this thread.
Also, do NOT use an ECM burst at a lowsec gate unless you want to see your orca die to concord instead of pirates.

fit an ACR rig, fit a 100 MWD, warp in 1 MWD cycle. fit a cloak. You won't able to make it back to the gate if it's camped anyway so use a scout and get off the gate as fast as possible.
