I've heard the legend of Chribba's Veldnaught, a supercap that refused to obey the rules and hangs around in Amarr mining the mighty veins of Veldspar that can be found in the asteroid belts. Does he still do this, and is it possible to, say, get a chance to mine alongside him? For I would love to utilize my Rokh Smasher, a repurposed combat ship that has no purpose but for mining sweet ore, in a quest for the illustrious riches of Amarr veldspar asteroids much like he does.
Secondly, does the Veldnaught laugh in the face of Hulkageddon and continue on its quest for fortune with nary a fluttered eye at the pirates that seek to do in lesser ships of its purpose?

Ah, although Chribba isn't allowed to PvP in the Veldnaught, CCP hasn't said anything to him about the times he's "mined" the veld out of another ship's cargohold.

Chribba transcends hulkageddon.

Last time someone mentioned attempting to kill Chribba in his Veldnaught, I believe more than 15 or so very well-known PVP and Merc Corps said they would war-dec and obliterate said offenders, giving them a new meaning to the phrase, "Terminate with Extreme Prejudice." That should sum it up nicely

the veldnaught is a dread and thus not a super cap,
he does use it sometimes haven't seen it out in a while though, then again I haven't been to amarr in a while. a while ago he posted some ss of him in a mining titan, so he might not even be able to hang out in amarr due to other activities.

I don't have the numbers on me ATM but I'm guessing it's in the ball park of over nine thousand.

I do bring it out and anyone is welcome to mine alongside me. As for Hulkygeddon, I'm carrying extra tank to avoid the heat

His veldnaught is in Amarr, and has been there for quite a while now. He cannot move it but to low-sec so it will continue to stay in amarr for as long as chribba sees fit (read: indefinatelly more likely). __________________________________________________

Would you be kind enough to share the specs of your system? I'm impressed by all 5 clients + photoshop + outlook + more and only running 55% CPU.

with a Core i7 and 6 gigs of ram and a pig of a graphics card i can run 4 clients without the system even blinking.
My question is - how the heck did you get a dread into high sec to begin with? Is there some history Im missing here?

My specs isn't that uber only an amd x2 4800 and a semi-midrange gfx card. But all clients run on low.
As for the dread, it was built in Amarr many years ago when you could use NPC stations to build caps. I never jumped it out, hence it can remain in there. The wiki has more info about its history - Linkage

With an aging c2d e6750, 4 gigs of ram and a 9800gtx I can run 10 clients without the system even blinking. Seriously people, eve is one of the least graphically and computationally demanding modern games out there.
As far as high sec caps well once upon a time you could build them in high sec and when ccp changed the rules they grandfathered in all the ones still there with the provision they don't use them offensively. Afaik there are still a few dozen lurking about that never get undocked and are simply sold for a few 10's of billions to pilots wanting something unique for their hangers.

Ahhh...this would explain why I could have sworn I had seen a Dread in Amarr many moons ago.
Perhaps Chribba, you could let me know when next you undock so I can, once again, see a Dread up close? For me, I am an all-hi-sec player so haven't seen many dreads.
I'm curious to see how the the ship looks with mining turrets? Do you have typical drills or can you fit the strip miners on a dread?
