Incarna is a AMAZING feature it will change the game, Have any of you guys seen the footage and such from fanfest 2008? Youtube it.
You can open your own bar and design it however you want from stripper to minigames to lighting. You can open a clothing store and design and sell clothes. You can cut hair.
Theres a variety of jobs and skills you can do in stations. You can make ISK by owning your own shop.
Also CCP talked about corp HQs having board rooms and such you can use for meetings.
Incarna adds a huge dynamic to eve.
Im tired of eve players whining that CCP has most of there eve devs on Incarna, well they are doing that cause its really going to change the game, I can see eve subs doubling with Incarna. Most of my friends love the idea of eve a real sci fi sandbox, but cant connect, having a avatar and being able to own a shop or hang out in station bar with some friends would really bring them into the game easier.

Is Incarna the next expansion? It sounds like it is in CCP Zulu's recent dev blog.

This sounds like warcraft in space and i'm sure most of us really dont want that.

Incarna will be great.
Think about the immersion and sense of scale it will open up.
And an avatar for those that don't want to be a spaceship.

Why on earth would someone join EvE if they don't want to be in a spaceship?!

Why to play eveonline if you do not want to fly a space ship? For those who want to play a different game, in which you can take full benefit of incarna features, you can go to play the one that already is on the market: you can be a barber, a dancer, a what a hell do you want to be. Leave eve for spaceships and planets. eve is a beautiful game! |

And CCP can use the graphic engine for another game. (Hush, don't tell which one.) More money to CCP. More developers. More things. Good.
And I believe Incarna will attract more girls. I hope they're not too scary.

Uh Im actually not trolling >.>
This is the truth, also CCP talked about a multi use tactical map in war rooms of station corp HQs.
So multiple people can look at tactical maps and make things on the fly others can see to plan stuff.
Pretty cool eh?

Incarna will be released summer/winter 2011. If you look at the dev blog, it says the majority of teams on Incarna are on it for 3 releases. So, if release means winter/summer expansions, then Incarna should be released Winter 2011.
Also, the fact that the remainder of teams is on for 1.5 releases indicates that time from this August to spring 2011 is the main development phase for incarna. After that, its mainly additional content and polish phase until release.
It seems to me people underestimate how much Incarna will add to Eve, making it "whole" in terms of Sci-Fi experience.
Also, having seen some of the technology running at GDC 2010 (even though the characters and environments were clearly from World of Darkness), I can only say it will be amazing, and will blow todays AAA titles out of the water with the amount of realism.

They are using it for the title that shall not be named, see my post above.

Yeah, almost as cool as fleet formations, treaties, faction warfare upgrades, the industry expansion....
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

Well it was copy pasta'd from that new Eve dev blog where a CCP is explaining how having 70 people working on Incarna and only half that working on Spaceship-Eve is a good thing, so probably a troll or dev in disguise.

Incarna probably will be awesome, but not for the reasons you might think.
It will attract a different group of players with different ambitions and goals in the universe that is EVE. Some of them will open bars and for the first iteration that will be nice eye candy. But it will evolve...
Then they'll want more. They'll want power. They will, I believe, evolve into non NPC agents. Some will sit in their thrones, orchestrating and financing the wars in space, and on planets.
The possibilities are endless. The potential is there. If you cant see that then you've just not grasped what EVE could become.

And to further underscore that...we've been hearing and expecting Ambulation/WiS/Incarna since late 2005.
So, go away, fanboi. When you've been waiting 5 years for the-vaporware-known-as-Ambulation/Wis/Incarna, then you're allowed to have an opinion.

So lets believe the devblog about the 2011 release of Incarna. It will be a novel feature people will play around with briefly before heading back into the spaceships we pay money to fly. Very soon people realise that its a dead-end feature that adds nothing to the game. The only purpose it serves thereafter is as another bullet point on adverts and another broken and abandoned game feature. If anyone hasn't yet, they should sign the threadnaught in the assembly hall for CCP to stop releasing half-baked features and just get the existing ones right.

And how do you know this will be true? Really? Can you list the features on Incarna? If so Id be pleased if you could point out where they're listed. If not you're just making baseless judgements supported with nothing more than you're opinion.
