A few months back, Lui Kai was to borrow a handsome sum of ISK on an absolutely ****e business scheme. Seeing as how he's been out of action a bit, how did that offering play out? Mayhaps I missed it on the forums, but does anyone know?

You missed a lot then.
He scammed the entire amount and if memory serves deleted the character.

He first made a long-winded thread insistingly arguing that public offerings were a menace and the only logical reason for anyone to run a bond would be to scam.
He then made a bond, and citizens of MD happily sent him 11 bn isk. ----------------------- "Signatures" chatroom for traders / Hydra Investment Fund |

I don't get the whole lemmings thing. Investors aren't really "lemmings" if they're just taking a chance on someone. They have faith that you have integrity based on character, previous bonds, whatever. If you then turn into a scam, you're just abusing their trust. So that's lame of him. Ho hum.
A lemming IMO would be someone who waits until a big investor makes a reservation and then throws in his 10 mil request for 1 share.
Or do I need to go back and play more really old MS-DOS games? --- WORMHOLE SERVICE RL Meeting w/ Chribba

Well that was what happened! Claire, filled the first part of the bond on her own, that led others to chip in, and she decided to close block 2 or 3 herself again, she lost around 7B or something!

I can't wait for an EPIC Chribba scam. With his name, he could probably scam together a few hundred billions (perhaps even more). Not necessarily for the ISK, but for the fun of it.

tbh I don't see the fun in it, nor do I need the ISK. People greeting and chatting me up in local is many times more fun than I could ever have with a bag of money.

7.5B to be exact. Let that be a lesson to you, everyone on MD is a scammer! (or potential scammer.) My wallet has since recovered, but not my fragile ego.

It is hard to imagine Chribba the person scamming. But in a world where Windows and Internet Explorer and VBScript exist, and a CCP 2FA Authenticator does not, the possibility of the Chribba account doing something unfortunate is very, very low but not quite zero.

I don't agree at all. Most people are not gutless turds, aka scammers, by nature.
Lui, on the other hand, turned out to have no more substance than a polished turd.

I may agree that everyone might be a potential scammer, but not that everyone on MD is a scammer (or a scammer in the making).
There are those who think like Chribba. There are those playing EvE the game and not EvE the crimegame. There are those who have not the inclination to scam or that cannot / have it very very hard to scam.
Plus the sum of above (my case).
Plus, Claire, you were TOLD (on SCC Lounge) about this scam iirc. This should have raised some question, if not by you by those who still invested after you. - Auditing & consulting

I'm sure I was TOLD by numerous people that this was a scam. This just happened to be a case where the crowd was right.
I'm the kind of person who puts 14B of tech in a jump freighter and flies through 0.5 bottleneck systems on a weekend to see how many people will shoot at me. I don't think I care too much about losing 7.5B isk.

Nah, I'm quite sure you wouldn't do anything like that. But it would be epic

No, I refer to a specific person who both you and LK knew well enough to know if he was a bluff or not. - Auditing & consulting
