High: 5X Advanced 'limos' heavies 2x 150mm 'Scout' rails
Med: 2x named active hardners (vary depending on rat) 1x T2 10MN AB 1x T2 Large shield extender 1x T2 shield recharger (15% faster shield recharge rate)
Low: 3x T2 PDU's 1X BCU
With this set up I have yet to need a shield booster at all. Shield recharges faster than the shields take the dmg with BC at lvl3 and the 2 hardners going. Shields are at 6123hps with a 553 sec recharge rate.

Quote: That would give you 28 hp/sec peek recharge rate, about half of the peak recharge of a standard boost setup (med booster II + boost amp + normal shield recharge). Not bad as your's is going 23/7 while the recharge of a boost setup is very temporary.
Yes it runs 24/7 with no extra cap needed and also requires only 1 med slot while a boost + boost amp reqires 2 slots,

Quote: Well to be correct so does yours, extender + recharger. Both active and passive tanks has their advantages and disadvantages but low slot usage it not one of them for either :)
Well to be honest, I'd use the extender no matter what. 2100 extra hps are a lot to get through when you are resisting the dmg done to the shield by 60-75%. I used the extender and the booster alone for quite a while until I relised that I hardly needed to hit the booster. So I put in the recharger and now I dont have to worry about it at all. The recharger replaces the hps I was using cap to replace before.

I've tweaked my set up since I last posted in this thread and have yet to have any worries about the spy stash mission or any other lvl3 mission with this set up. Havent gone below 50% shields, if that, with this setup. And the only mission that brought me down to 50% was spy stash.
High: 5x limos heavy lanchers 2x 150mm Scout rails Med: 2x Active hardners (rat specific) 1x T2 10Mn AB 1x T2 Large Shield extender 1x T2 Small shield booster Low: 3x t2 PDU 1x BCU
With this set up you can run the small booster and the 2 hardners the indefintely. If the need arises to harden vs 3 dmg types you can sub out the AB for a 3rd hardner and run that also indefintely. The 2 150's and a drone bay of 5 mixed med drones takes care of the frigs. With the small t2 booster givin you 30hps every 2 sec and the ferox's natural resists coupled with the hardners you will be hard pressed to find a way to get your shields below 50% in a lvl 3 mission. Woudl not advise sitting in front of those sentries in spy stash too long though. Still leaves ample time to take care of them though.

Quote: This is my take on the ferrox/ lvl 3 kill missions
Tried the 5 heavys 2 150mm rails to start with meds large shield exp/shield amp/shield booster/2 act hardeners lows 4 pds Is
total crap heavys doing crap dammage took an age to kill anything
Next
Each to there own I guess but with all the missles skills at least at lvl 3 you should (and I do) see some decent damage. If the lancher set up was so awful you would not see about 85% of the set ups here using heavies. But I'd like to also try the rails and lancher combo but I'm hard pressed to give up the Large T2 extender and the grid is too tight otherwise with the rails, least atm.

I usually hit anywhere from 120 to 180 with heavies, with a firing rate of just over 12 sec.
