ATM all I use is a Ferox, have been messing with setups (still not perfect) but I use
4 X Advanced Limos Heavies 1 X Arbalest Heavy 2 X Proto 150mm railguns w/ AM/Iridium
1 X Tech 2 Large Shield Booster 3 X Named Hardeners EM/Kin/Thrm 1 X Named Webber
2 X BCU 2 X Tech 2 Power Diagnostic Systems
Seems to work well on all the lvl 3's so far however I have not done Spy Stash or Extrav etc.
I'm going to try the 2 Large shield expanders

Just fitted 2 Large Tech 2 shield expanders and got my shields up to 10,485 hit points then 3 hardeners or 2 hardeners and a webber (not sure what will be best atm)
4 X Tech 2 Power Diags also :) ran out of CPU to fit any BCU's

And i have really crap shieldskills. My friend with maxed shieldskills, which has more shields and better recharge rate from start, calculated 336dps
sorry for the question, but somebody can explain this for a newbie? what does it mean dps? thanks.
Damage Per Second = DPS - means that in this case with no resistance to damage types the poster can absorb 290 points of damage i.e. can take it and repair it naturally or with boosters per second

Edited by: VaderDSL on 12/10/2005 12:01:34 I myself find resistances better than shield HP's for tanking, I use the following for guristas mission:
High
5 X Heavy Launchers (1 X Arbalest // 4 X Advanced Limos) - soon to be T2 Launchers 2 X 150mm Railguns (2 X 150mm Prototypes)
Mid
1 X T2 Large Shield Booster 2 X T2 Active Shield Hardeners (Kinetic + Thermal) 1 X T2 Passive Thermal Shield Hardener 1 X Webifier (For Taking out Frigates)
Low
3 X T2 Power Diagnostic Systems 1 X Ballistic Control Unit
I can tank the Guristas lvl 3 Extravaganza missions without any worries, I can take on 9 cruisers (mix of Nullifier, Silencers, Terrorists, Anhililators) and about half a dozen frigates also without much of a problem, I can also tank two Sentry Gun II's and two Guristas Heavy Missile Turrets (their widowmakers do 99 damage every half a minute or so)
For easier misions I replace a T2 PDS for a BCU and remove the Webifier and fit a T2 10mn Afterburner.
When the new shield skills come out I'll probably stick a named Damage Control mod in a low slot, and use three T2 passive hardeners - depending if the active hardeners get a resistance bonus or not.
Either way - I will have better resistances when the new skills come out. Might even go for Battlecruiser lvl 5 also - I have all my Engineering skills at lvl 5 now anyhow so I might as well maximise my shield tanking ability.
IMO you have to have either Light Missiles or 150mm Railguns on your ferox to cope with lvl 3 missions - combine the 150mm Railguns with 8-10 Light Drones and you can take out webbing frigates very quickly which is what you want to be able to tank the bigger stuff. Especially on missions such as Spy Stash where you jump in and two very fast Pith Eliminators web you immediately - you need them taken out quickly which is where a Webifier, 2 X 150mm Railguns and 8 Light Drones come in very useful - allows you the use of the remaining 5 Heavy Launchers to start taking out the bigger cruisers/sentry guns.
The only downside to a Ferox is slightly low DPS and lack of agility/speed - but damn you can tank in this ship :)
