How exactly is one supposed to effectively retaliate in 15 minutes before the sentries decide to protect an aggressor again? The flagging timer needs to be raised to 24 hours, and sentry guns need to stop attacking flagged individuals.
As it stands, waiting out flagging is fun for neither the aggressor or the retaliatior. Increase the time so that it's no longer a reasonable option to simply hide and wait for the window of opportunity for a victim to retaliate to close. Eliminate sentry gun response so that its no longer mandatory to hide, which benefits NOONE.

How I would have it, is an intial 15minute flagging to the specific gate a player was agressive at, but coupled with a 24 hour flag for that whole region to the victim/victims corp. As a pirate this would suit me down to the ground, as It would draw more victims to me... :P

How I would have it, is an intial 15minute flagging to the specific gate a player was agressive at, but coupled with a 24 hour flag for that whole region to the victim/victims corp. As a pirate this would suit me down to the ground, as It would draw more victims to me... :P

I'ts a really pointless feature, no fun for anyone,, and just makes everything generally more boring cos thers more w8ing around doin nuthin. __

Yeah. The current system of flagging makes absolutely no sense and the only practical effect is to suck 15 minutes away from the attacker. The game mandates that you hide where revenge cannot possibly find you until 15 minutes elapse, then you're back under the loving care of the sentry guns.
On the flip side, 15 minutes is nowhere near long enough to obtain a replacement ship and fittings and come back for revenge in most situations. Even if you can make it back while your target is flagged, they have to wait a few minutes at most to be free from legal repercussions again.
Its a really idiotic system that encourages ganking and discourages people from ever having a chance at revenge.

Kinda sure he means that they will still fire at crimes they see but the feature that makes them shoot at crimes they don't see shall go away.
And in my opinion aswell benefits everyone.

Kinda sure he means that they will still fire at crimes they see but the feature that makes them shoot at crimes they don't see shall go away.

feta have u used your scanner probes yet ? cos if u use them to find a pirate you wont get to him befor ehte timer is over and your ship will be uber gimped having fitted 1 so you will be dead if you hang around to fight, if u dont hang around to fight the pirate will merely move somewhere else and scrap the safespot he was at. also i thought that scanner probes took 40 minutes to scan ? o and i aggree that sentries that did not see hte aggresion should not attack, and we should be flagged for longer.

Great, except your ship is dead (thats why hes flagged, right?) and the replacement is a few jumps away. Now you have exactly 15 minutes from when the last shot was fired before your target can just warp to a station and sit under the sentries. You are not going to have time, you wouldnt have time if you started looking the second he safespotted.

Some safespots are EXTREMILY easy to find, namely the ones made between two warpable objects. You can pretty much spot them from anywhere in the map an quickly go place 3au probes and locate them. Well, twice(or more) warped spots are tougher and the old hey-I-got-5-mwd spots are sometimes impossible to find.
As for the "your ship will be dead" or the pirate moving, that's why I trained covert ops at lvl4
EDIT: oh, and I never meant that I'll be solo hunting the pirate, jeez I never do that... I'm a [filterAvoidance]female reproductive organ[/filterAvoidance]

The sentry response to off grid aggression is a bit unbalanced in my view. The tagging is ok, but 15 minutes is a bit short. One option could be 15 minutes tagged for everyone. Then a subsequent time period where the aggressor is tagged to the victim or the victim's corp.
Another option would be to stop the Station sentries from responding but leave the gate sentries on. This would effectively lock the aggressor into the system.
