That is a very nice character build for Amarr, well done!
If you feel you have lost your interest in the game, that is too bad, but anyone would love a character like yours.
So, that being said, I'd more then likely use him to lure my friend into playing this game finally and more then likely flying in small highsec corperations.
Oh, I'd also promise to return him if you ever decided to come back to eve and not to sell him for quick profit. - No one likes starting from scratch after all.

Hey Tvol,
Sorry to hear that you have had enough of eve but....
Don't 'give away' your toon for 1 isk(most poster here will only most likey sell your toon on for the isk gain). Why don't you sell him and give the isk to a fellow friend in eve whom you know well and trust?
or
Just let the account go idle and maybe one day you might want to pop back on and see if anything has changed that makes you want to return to the game.
Anyways whatever you do i hope you make the right decision for you.

Almost a hundred posts so far, wow! I had no idea that it would be so hard to choose someone. My best friend suggested that I just sell him to the highest bidder and give all his money to Eve University. He said that it would be better to benefit a group of people than an individual.
What do you guys think?

It is your decision to make. I for one could never afford to buy such a character like yours. This would have been my only chance to have something good for pvp in a short time. Anything you decide is ok. We thank you for considering to give away your char as a gift. I am kinda sad right now but i understand.

Thats a toughie, you could certainly do that (give away a lump of isk that is), but in my opinion that really doesn't help to create self sufficient eve players. Not to mention you would know even less about who was getting it. If it were me, I would probably just stick to the original plan, make a choice and walk away feeling good. Up to you though man, I honestly just appreciate the thought, very cool of you.

Thats a good idea cas then atleast more then 1 person will benifit from your absense then just 1 who will more likely cas more trouble then hes/shes worth using a toon he/she hasnt trained him/her self

I have been playing for about 2 years and I have been mainly a PvE pilot. I finally got a taste of PvP and I found that I liked the experience so your character would let me experience that part of the game better than my current character will allow me to. I would be able to help my alliance in their PvP area with your character while I support it in PvE areas with mine.

Your friends idea is a good one. I'm sure Eve uni will appreciate the donation. And the choice is yours, ofcourse, so do what you think is best for the character.
Unfortunately, there's no way I could afford to outbid people for him, but should you decide to keep with your original idea, keep me in mind ;)

It sounds like i fine idea. Eve Uni has helped thousands of people experience the joys of Eve Online. A donation would help them since they replace ships and such. Personally i think you would get a lot of rage mail from players who just wanted to abuse the account. I see this as a valid player who has done his fair share for the Eve community, wanting to pass on his legacy to another. Selling to the highest bidder may sound fair, but the people that possess that much ISK, they already have toons of that SP level if not higher. Or they have the money to buy a ton of PLEX, which most people cant right now. I wanted this toon because this game challenges my mind when i pvp or do anything of that nature. With a toon like yours, i could further my adventures with my corp. Good luck to making a decision tvol. It will be a challenging one.

I am an author in negotiations with TOR to write a full length SF novel set in the Eve universe. I need a handful of characters with unqiue backgrounds that I will play and use to create the content. tvol seems to have the right amount of SP and background to focus my Amarr arc around. I will use him in game and write about his exploits.

I think eve-uni would be very pleased with something like that.
Ofcourse we all would like to own a character like yours, and it is still yours to do with whatever you want to :)

Lol, look you already livened up the place enough, and whatever you do will ultimately please only a select few anyway.
If i where you, id let it expire and maybe come back after a year or so.
A char with this much effort in it, would be hard to replace.

I would probably just pick a number between 1-109 (the number of posts in the thread) and be done with it.

well, you could just give all the assets to some corp, that actually helps people getting in to the game, then biomass your char to get the weight off your shoulder. it would be alot easyere for you. then no envy/harm is made and everything is as before you made this generous decision.

I think you had a clever plan. FREE TOON! Guaranteed to get lots of exposure . . . THEN . . . HIGHEST BIDDER! What do you care about meaningless isk if your out of game? If your so sick of Eve, why are you devoting so much time to getting rid of your toon? The only flaw is most of the exposure you got is coming from BROKE players that cannot afford to buy him anyway. And those of us who can afford him don't need him. Forget charity and donations - just be honorable and sell him on the forums straight up and give the isk to an in-game friend or honor your post here and give him away for 1 isk as you first stated.
I offered you an opportunity to have someone else pay to keep your toon training and waiting for you to return from break - but now its obvious that your not leaving Eve at all - just trying a different marketing approach to selling toons. Bait and switch - it's been around a while. Good luck in your endeavours. |

True, but in the end it wont matter.
If you want to give him away, choose someone and just give him, even if you'd do it at random most wont believe it.
The only advice i can really give is this;
You can only make yourself happy, but not everyone else.
Pick a path and stick with it.

You said in the thread that you want to make sure the character doesn't get sold/abused/etc.
I am willing to:
- Set up a dedicated web feed whenever I log onto the character, viewable by yourself and anyone you share the password with.
- Use the character to protect new players in low-sec, only killing people who prey upon the weak. This will insure that many many more people than just myself will benefit, along similar lines as Eve University. I will have a dedicated TeamSpeak room available linked from my bio for people who are being harassed to request my help.
- Continue skilling the character, thereby allowing two things. Either you decide to return, and do so to a more powerful character (1 isk, I pay transfer cost), or you decide that you made the wrong decision and it goes to auction (for more than it will now) and the proceeds donated to EVE-U.
- Mail you a victory cigar for breaking free of online gaming.

Thanks for the post. IÆve found that people that donÆt trust others are generally untrustworthy themselves. That being said, I am quitting Eve. It takes too much of my time and is very frustrating. I donÆt want something to come back to. I want to sever all ties with Eve and move on. IÆve been playing since 2004 and IÆve sold or destroyed every character other than this one.
