I'll probably resub my basic non expansion account.
I left because 1) I kept getting banned, and 2) because the game content was horribly repetitive and grindish. Blizzard made it painfully clear they will continue to substitute grinding for game content for years to come.

I quit because the game is like a greyhound race, and you're the greyhound. Sometimes you win and catch the rabbit, only it turns out the rabbit isn't all that great and you're still dumb enough to run the race for the same rabbit one more time tomorrow.
I'd never go back to WoW because it wouldn't be WoW if they changed it into a game I consider worth playing.

Years ago my IRL friends got me to go buy the box. I plugged in my info, got my first month...played it during a weekend. Monday after work I canceled my sub. I had to CALL to get it canceled, and they kept escalating me up. Eventually some manager got on the phone, offered me X free months...I told them "no thanks, make diablo 3 and maybe then I'll play one of your MMOs".
They listened, but totally misunderstood me. Instead, they're making woablo 3. Very, VERY sad in the pants.

I gave it up because they were slowly (or rather, not so slowly) crushing the difficulty out of it (in hindsight, having played other things, im aware there wasnt a hell of a lot anyway, but what little there was is long gone now), and removing any opportunity for someone to show their knowledge and ability in order to leave no cretin behind. I wont be going back; that game is only sliding one way now, and its picking up speed as it goes.
To the games credit, if it hadnt been for me playing that, I would not be here now, as pre-wow, I was rabidly anti-mmo.
