Does anyone else fly one of these? The price was right (480k) and the cargo hold and capacitor are huge for that kind of money. What really sucks though is that it only was one turret hardpoint so filling up my expanded cargo bay (6900) takes a LONG time with just one mining laser.
If you fly one of these, what do you mainly use it for?
I'm saving up for a Retriever.... I think.

The Bestower is one of the best industrial ships to fly for such low requirements (only needs level 1 Amarr Indy).
If you want to mine, however, you won't want any of the industrial ships. The time and ISK you put into the Bestower was well spent, you just won't want it for mining after you get a Retriever.
That being said. Follow your current plan to get into a Retriever. It's well worth it and will set you on your way towards even better mining ships if that's what you're looking for.

Haha this guy is mining with his bestower.
Protip: Jetcans and frigs/cruisers/then retriever is your friend. Jetcan ore, pick up the leftovers when it's full with indy.
Protip2: If you are mining with the Bestower, you could be making 100X more hauling items from tradehub to tradehub.

Just get a Osprey or other racial cruiser with mining bonus, then look into mining barges. Pull my finger. |

Hey, my first couple of weeks playing EVE, I'd sometimes point an Iteron with a mining laser at a biggish asteroid in 1.0 space while I was AFK.
IT HAD VALUE

Still does. I've been known to park an over-tanked Orca in a belt with Mining Drones out. It redefines AFK mining.

As you train Industrial skill your ship improves as opposed to buying am Iteron, then Mark II , ... V
An indy with 1 laser AFK is better yield than someone not logged in. But ...

Thanks for the comments and that link!
For some reason, I really enjoy mining. I already have a few PI colonies set up and am currently training for the Mining barges. I figured it's best not to keep all of your eggs in one basket.

I did purchase my Retriever and am still Training my skills to fly it. I already purchased 2 strip miners and 5 drones so I'm ready to do some mining.
As far as my Bestower...
I am really liking this vessel. Lately I have been using it for Salvage runs and it's been great. I added a few Propulsion Mods and equipped it with a Laser Turret. The armor protection of this ship is terrific as is the size of the Capacitor. I will be keeping this ship for Salvaging and hauling. With 2 cargo bay expanders, I can get 6900m out of the Cargo Bay.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what specific equipment I should install to aid in the warp and propulsion? It is still kinda slow...
Thanks.

Industrial= hauls stuff. Not really an effective multipurpose ship. For salvaging use a dessy or if you like to salvage in style a cane. If you want it to warp faster and have a bit faster sub warp speed use nanofiber structures ( under hull upgrades) and either inertial stabilizers ( for entering warp faster) or overdrive injectors( for faster velocity) both are found under propulsion upgrades. ODs reduce cargo space though.
For mining if you are worried about getting can flipped you can anchor some of the giant secure cans in a belt and dump into those. I think you have to be below .7 on system sec status to anchor them though cant remember. But you mine in a racial miner dump into cans. Come back in a indy that equipped with cargo expanders ( and when you can) cargo rigs and clear out the cans. Outside of a orca its the best way to solo mine in empire. Jet canning is dangerous and can be a waste of time in high sec unless you find a really remote system with very few people.
