I literally think that if CCP hasn't fixed this lag in a few months, 0.0 alliances should band together to destroy the game.

I normally do vote for EVE in these things but yeah I seriously don't know how you can ask us at this moment. Ask again in 18+ months when you actually put some effort in to fixing eve's issues and not in to some other "feature" I don't want or have very little interest in.

I neglected to turn off auto repeat before attempting to register to cast my vote, now the computer I was using to vote with has been blackscreened for over 3 hours. I filed a petition with the site owners, but the logs show nothing.
Maybe I'll try voting again in 18 months.

The irony in CCP asking it's customer base to vote for them as best online game, the day after a 12 page thread signed by opposing factions was created in CAOD pointing out the state of EVE is however, over 9000.

I voted for EVE without hesitation.
Is the game perfect? No. Are there some things I'd like see changed/fixed? Absolutely.
Is it as bad as all the whining and b*tching on the forums suggests? Absolutely not, not by a long shot.
The EVE I play is something that has kept me excited for over 2 years straight, has eaten probably hundreds of my hard-earned dollars, frustrated my wife to no end, and caused many a sleepless night and undproductive work day, and if given the chance to go back and do it all again, the only thing I'd have done differently was to create this account sooner.
Thank you CCP for creating an excellent game, would buy again!

I'll tell you what,
if you want our vote, i suggest you do 1 simple thing, stop adding more stuff to the game to mask the bugs and errors that are currently here and actually try and resolve the problems then move forward.
i understand that you want to add new content to keep people interested but at the same time, you are loosing people because they cannot log into their accounts due to lag, large fleet fights of 15 Vs 15 suffer from lag in areas, the really large alliance fights of 600 Vs 600 is just unplayable alltogether leaving you in a station 6 hours later with your poor "our records dont show anything".
maybe CCP, you should begin to listen to the cries of the people, the customers, the ones that actually make your pay cheques. all we want is some stability for once. review the code of the game and try address the issues straight away. dont ignore us. some of us have been playing for years now and some i know have sold their accounts because they are tired of the way this game has gone and not one of you can say there is no lag issues in the game atm. |

Voted for Bad Company 2, because it is a game that Dust will never get close to be as awesome. You can literally flatten the entire enemy spawn with explosives, leveling the buildings, and turning the land into a smoldering crater if need be :D Plus I want to appease DICE to get Battlefield 3 faster :D

Space--the final frontier, except in Eve where the universe is full. I like Eve and have too much time and isk invested to quit (for now) but the days of venturing into null sec and not finding 800 pilots there are over.

Edited by: Roman Bylar on 29/07/2010 00:52:54 Voting for EVE would be like voting to allow somebody to drop a masive duce in your mouth and give you AIDS. If you think about it, thats exactly what CCP has been doing, feeding us fecal matter with half finished expansions that dont add any depth or excitement to the game, and the AIDS is in the form of broken game mechanics.

EVE Online is awesome in every way, including it's bugs. Of course I will vote for it.
It would be nice if CCP could spend one year just fixing the bugs though. Art department get the texture system porter to all objects, sort out remaining issues of scale, polygons or frames that are inside out, new models for existing ships, etc. Space sim folks sort out the crash-on-jump issues, separation of grid from sol, progressive loading of model details, textures, what not, changing model detail level without having ships blinking out of existence, beam weapons and missile trails disappearing behind distant nebulas, and so forth.
So many tiny tiny bugs which impact upon the immersion and enjoyability of the game.
I'm all for Incarna, even if the initial versions are nothing more than a glorified IMVU. I'm all for Dust even if it's a simple mechanism of "player X destroys your extractor on Planet X"
These are already in advanced development, it would be nice to have a feature freeze in EVE itself for a year, to allow some time for developers to catch up with the huge pool of technical debt which will inevitably render the code base an impenetrable mess dooming any future developers to a life in the psych ward as a catatonic wreck.
You can't commit to excellence while still releasing new broken stuff into the pool of existing broken stuff. Less ambitious expansions, more focus on maintenance, drive the scifi simulator to excellence.

There is about 500 text in this thread. A the same time there's 42,000 player who is online. 500 out of 42,000 is 1.1%. This might look like something big but it isn't.
I use 8 accounts to support myself and GW in our fast paced, hedonistic 0.0 lifestyle and I suspect that as soon as you hit any alliance work which requires a lot of coordination or logistics you'll be talking to someone with at least 3 accounts as well. There might only be 500 people posting here, but they represent a much larger portion of the 'player base' than you realise.

I cannot in good conscience vote for this game as best MMORPG. CCP is fast becoming a bottom line company who's only concern is getting money out of our pockets. Please put your heart and soul into this game as you so wonderfully demonstrated in the past.

Oh really? How are those epic space battles to regain your recently hargothed space going? Would you call what your experiencing "good gameplay"? Would you even call it game play?
If your in doubt, we can try to arrange for a few more people to show up and demonstrate what were ****ed about.

I love eve im hardcore player i play every day x hours, but sorry CCP i dont vote, not because of lag...
Because of learings. Because of falcon, and other nerf where people waste time while train some skills to get nice ships. Because you create walking on station trailer video x years ago and and this Eve Planetary fight video empry promise. Because your dev blog is always mysterius with lack of information like one seed-grain for hungry person.

Are you kidding?
Dominion killed Eve for me. Instead of an a 0.0 renaissance (as promised) we got a dull broken sov system to replace the other broken system and the lag that continues to crush any fun out of fights. Atlas is the only reason Ive logged in at all since then.
I can barely recall what the last two expansions were about.
The last dev to talk like he knew what the players wanted was Abathur and as far as I can tell he is no longer with CCP.
Eve is as good as it is because CCP got lucky early on and created something that was and still is bold and unique, not because of anything the monkeys currently at the helm have shat out in the last few years.
Lag aside, Eve is still good but it should be great by now, it still could be. Now, after reading the CSM minutes and Zulu's last blog (and the fact that he is senior producer) I have little hope.
My subs run out next month. Fix the lag and I might be tempted to resub. Create a sov system that promotes fun (gasp! the F word) and Ill definitely be back.
Also... World of Tanks is quite fun, look for me (Blitzfish) there.
