Hello All,
This thread is 100% serious. It takes courage to post when the tide is pouring against your company. I want to say thank you and not be lost in the threadnaught, anyone else who would like to thank him as well, please post here.

YEAH!
I like to read, although sometimes it hurts.
...
I am well aware of the passion behind all the posts here, even though many of them utilize quite clever humor as a tactic for relaying disatisfaction (killmail one).
I was not being sarcastic or trying to be humorous in return. Just jumping in to make sure you know that CCPers read these threads and that we pass them along to other people in CCP to make sure they know about them as well.
As to CCP Explorer, he sacrificed time with his loved ones to post in a growing devblog that showed only a little love to CCP.
Thank you both for your time and effort. Please urge your bosses to change the front page of eveonline and evegate to say
WE HEAR YOU ABOUT LAG Today forward it is our #1 concern

Best, Apollo PS There are other developers who have posted to these forums, although I don't have the time right now to also single you out, but thank you none the less. CCP Commit to Excellence by September 1st 2010

lol wut?
You honestly believe that the multiple threadnaughts of late are just a few people playing Eve?
you do think there is a "real" anger building? If these posts were all people in the same alliance, or hell even alliances that got along, I would say sure they are trying to pull one over on CCP, but the posts in the sticky for Europe Video Game Awards contain factions that normally only troll each other and fire at will. They'd rather insult each other than concede any ground, yet they all agree.
I urge you to read some posts, including the 58+ page dev blog on upcoming features and see HOW many unique "nerds" you think don't matter.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the posters on the forums are a very, very small amount of the playerbase regardless how many posts a singe threadnaught gets.

Edited by: Apollo Gabriel on 28/07/2010 21:17:07 EDIT: The point of this thread is to thank CCP Explorer and Manifest, and as such I will not reply any longer, except to praise them.
I am trying to argue that anywhere near 300k users post here. I would be amazed if 10k posted with any regularity. Those that DO post here however often serve as conduits for information for those who do not. Many people simply don't bother looking themselves due to time and/or interest.
My point is that the number of people posting here is significant.
Why? Well CCP Zulu posted his devblog in response to the posts that were here believing that "ccp wasn't doing anything for 18 months". If you look at those posts, they were very short in comparison with the threadnaughts that have come after it.
Total % of playerbase is a meaningless comparison. Total percentage of posts to the forums? that I believe is meaningful, and by total percentage, it is growing rapidly.

Then you should say "The forum nerds are reaching mob level," instead of "The player base is reaching mob level,", there's a difference.

You honestly think CCP employees don't care what we think? The average CCP dev is just doing their job, as instructed every day. The people who made the design decisions by and large are not the ones here. If I sat here Captain Mung and insulted you, and that you spend your day doing worthless, meaningless tasks which mean nothing to anyone, you don't think that would affect you when you read it?
You really lack all empathy and can not understand that using ones time to VOLUNTEER a post from CCP should not be commended?
Either it is time for you to grow up, or get checked out for psychopathy,
Best Apollo

Kinda like my best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw the mass mob of EVE online players angrily picketing CCP.

First off , your forgetting that this "small " amount of the player base posting on the CCP selfinflicted threadknaught is for most of them players that hold multiple accounts.
2nd. your right it is still a small amount , but it just like a pole , represents a valid view of how the general population thinks atm, actually maybe even with more weight as this is people who care enough about the game to actually try and get CCP to fix it by letting there voices heard.

Notrly, it represents the opinions of the people posting, not the general population, saying a bunch of angry forum nerds speaks for the general population of a game is silly.

I am also grateful to Explorer and Manifest for taking the time to at least reply to the community.
If CCP had been more communicative in the round regarding their thoughts on the future of EVE then I think quite a substantial amount of negative feelings across the forums towards CCP would at least have been mitigated.
Few want or support either Incarna or DUST because so little is known about them. More information might dampen the flames a little.

Edited by: Ti''anla on 29/07/2010 00:05:28 Supporting the topic! (Obviously)
But indeed, while as another said the playerbase isn't really reaching mob level, so much as suffering from a case of the loud minorities, threads like this are still important.
Anyone looking to get a feel for the forums might actually get to see a glimmer of hope amidst the endless, cynical, ill-informed, presumptuous bile on seeing these little gems. Yes many complaints are legitimate.. shame they're drowned out by the clatter of the hate bandwagon.
Thanks for making the thread, Apollo, and thanks to the developers from me and all.

A wild Ostrich appears briefly before burying his head in the sand.
Your attitude is strikingly similar to CCP's. "It's just a few guys that have been playing the game for years, what do they know. We'll get some more mission runners subscribing soon to patch any holes they make from leaving, now tell me how pretty the planets look" --- Witness epic fleet battles in Dominion

Most people who are happy don't bother to post.
I have to say that I haven't had much trouble with lag, except in Jita (and even that's not so bad anymore). I don't live in nullsec, of course, but not everyone does.
I'm not going to argue whether fleet lag is an issue, as CCP is apparently devoting a decent chunk of their dev time to it. I will say that in all my MMOG'ing over the years (off and on), I've generally thought of even having 100+ people in one place as lag-city (though I took a hiatus from MMOGs until last winter, so maybe I'm behind the times). I know that some people are used to gigantic fleet fights actually working, since it sounds like this used to work in Eve pre-Dominion. I'm surprised that it ever worked.
I'm not suggesting fleet lag shouldn't be addressed. But I'm not tearing my hair out about it, and I'm not sure any of my corpmates are. Your mileage may vary. Not everyone is represented by these threadnaughts.
As such, I'd ask some here to speak for themselves...
