Hello All,
perhaps I lack imagination, but I don't exactly see the point of this skill? It is only to get to Signal Suppression? I have looked at sensor links and I *think* they are used to combat sensor dampners, or perhaps if your buddy has a ship that can hit farther than it can lock.
I'd appreciate some advice,
Thanks Apollo CCP Commit to Excellence by September 1st 2010

I'm assuming that by "sensor links" you mean "remote sensor boosters"?
In which case, you're only looking at half of the benefits. RSBs also increase scan resolution which in turn massively decreases lock time. Hence allowing things, like, say, HICs at, say, a low sec gate to get an infinipoint on just about anything before it warps or cloaks.
So yeah, it's pretty useful.

Sensor Linking, which is the skill needed for Remote Sensor Boosters, since this is the Skill subforum afterall.

Sorry for any confusion:
I mean the skill Sensor Linking, as I look into it more, I see it really just as a stepping stone. I don't know why you would want to use the modules it enables, well don't know why in place of other modules.

Not everyone flies solo, and a gang is pretty useless if your tackler can't tackle the target before they warp off. ---

I get the point, I will look at the modules enabled by the skill, perhaps I am reading them wrong, I thought they made you able to target farther, not faster.

OP is correct, the skill itself is a timesink stepping stone to get signal suppression and t2 tracking links. The modules themselves already use very little cap. Unless you're using dampeners (or tracking links), it's not worth training past level one or two.
