When do you people get it....CCP dont like carebear....they think people should NOT stay in 0.5+
so fly to 0.4- and kill who every you like when they even get closed to your containers...
they DONT care about you losing stuff....they only want people to do battles...no room for miners like me, that mines a lot in 0.5+.
mine in a secure container that can take 3900 m3...LOL..must be a joke...if at least you could place 10 of them with in the same area..but they have to be 5k away...and even more joke...
fly to 0.4- or dont mine.

I would love to open up my Cyclone of the Badger V that stole stuff last night but if i do i lose the cyclone to NPC cops!

if people keep stealing stuff from you... don't you think that you're doing *something* wrong then? There are measures to prevent theft. Measures that not necessarily involve secure containers as well. Think about it.I've been actively mining since I started my life in EVE and so far I never got stuff stolen. Might because I take care to environments, or just ensure that the ore doesn't lay around in an open can for long...

secure cans are a hassle.
Get a group that can fill a hauler in a decent time. And get 2 haulers if necessary (one getting the ore while the other ships the previous load off...). If you do it right each single member of the group(including the haulers) earns more doing this than mining solo for the same amount of time.

Secure containers can only be anchored and passworded - and are therefore only secure - in 0.7 or lower
Found four giant secure cans nicely placed in a 0.8 belt the other day. All unanchored (ofc). Placed by a 3+ months old character/corp.

I get most my money by mining and I actually like the risk involved with the threat of ore thieves. It is part of the fun in my view. I do not think we as miners should be able to sit there mining and have no worries about someone stealing our ore, especially if we put it in a jet can. If you are worried about losing it, either use low capacity secure cans or get a hauler friend to help.
I jet can mine all the time, and have had little trouble. Some things to keep in mind is you do not mine in a busy area, bring a hauler friend, and keep an eye out for known ore stealers. Enjoy the fun and develop ways to protect the ore, makes it much more rewarding in my view.
These are just my views and they could be wrong.....often wrong if you listen to my wife. |

Then I could just sit there like I'm mining then hit F1 - F8 when the little buggers come close  . I would get literally seconds of amusement from this.
