hello.... i have recently started exploring wormholes with interesting results but i have yet to be able to find a way to determine what class of wormhole I'm getting into... I was wandering what i need to do to determine what class of wormhole I'm in before i stumble across a class 5 and owned by some sleepers |

You can look at the wormhole ID (not K162 but anything else like A239 or whatever) in one of several utilities that you can google like wormholethingie.
You can also show info for the hole you find and get a general view:
Unknown space: C1-3 Dangerous unknown: C4-5 Deadly unknown: C6

Class 1-2 worm holes will have trailer parks, refrigerators on front lawns, trucks on blocks, etc.
A class 6, the highest, will have well maintained properties, mansions, and plenty of Grey Poupon.

Back before we had tools to figure this sort of stuff out, and didn't know all the bits about looking at wormhole ID etc., we would determine what class a system was by the buffs/penalties from the local anomaly (if there was any).

Wormhole system attributes (buffs/penalties) have nothing to do with the class. You are clueless. |

You need to STFU before you make even more of a fool of yourself. Effects do scale with class. |

Of course they do. What I was getting at is the mere presence of a Black Hole, Magentar, Pulsar, etc. isn't enough to tell you what class the wh is. |

Of course I was referring to the degree of the local anomaly, not the presence of an anomaly itself. There's no need for ad hominem insults. Total Comfort has had a permanent w-space presence since the week after the Apocrypha expansion came out, and I assure you that I do in fact, have many clues on this matter.

There are 3 easy ways:
-Find the ID of the wormhole, and look it up. This only works if the W-Space side is K162 -Pop the locus sig (IE J123456) into one of the databases floating around -Look at the background color. A class 1 will be bluish-green, C2 blue, C3 grey, C4 green, C5 orange, and C6 red
Classes 1 through 3 will also show as "Unknown parts of space" when looking at the info on the entrance wormhole. C4 and C5 will show as "Dangerous Unknown" and C6 as "Deadly Unknown." The color of the entrance wormhole also corresponds with the above color chart. With those two facts, you can determine what class it is without even jumping in.

I should have mentioned this as well. As long as you are on the other side of the wormhole from the system you want to identify, you can see the class of the other end by the wormhole coloring.
After a year, some people in my corp still can't tell C3/C4 and C5/C6 apart. It seems so easy to me.
