The game is in early beta, they have already stated that there are more maps coming not to far off.

It depends how you look at it i guess. If you are always looking at the biggest tank and how you will get there then yes, i can see how it is definately a grind. However the difference between this and other MMOs (i dont consider this a MMO in the traditional sense, rather an online tank combat game with a rpg elements) is that the combat that could be considered a grind is acctually fun. This is not kill 20 boars for exp and money nor is it collect 10 insignia tags or it is fly around for 95% of the time then spend 5% in combat over and over again, you earn exp and credit by killing other players. That means every combat encounter you can expect something different which is crucial in holding my interest in any MMO like game.
And another point, is eve not a grind? You have to be training for many years before you can even get in the coolest ships. Plus i see PvE grinding for isk is terrrrrribbbbblllleeee and kills all interest for me.
There are some technical and slight communication problems right now which i don't like. But really i haven't seen many holes in the actual gameplay so far. Maybe things need balanced, but what MMO type game doesn't go through the same thing?
Personally im super excited about the game. I see it as the first legitimate contender to Eve in that it has the potential to have all the elements that i am fascinated by and subtracting the things i dont like, while always being always able to find combat within the first minute of logging in. The game is mostly skill and your actual expierence driving the tank so don't expect to be great just because you are driving a cool tank.
Plus omg you will be able to play it for free!!!!!!
