Ever since exodus i have not been able to run more than one account at the same time on one computer. the only way i can play with 2 is with my laptop right next to me :-/. i also have a problem with submitting reports. says my username is already being used but yet when i go to forgot password it says my account doesnt exisit?? so i can get no help from CCP and noone seems to know why it wont work. is there anyone else that is having the same problem?? does anyone know how to fix it?? IE: changing settings at all?? please any help would be appreciated, in game bug dont bother me as much as not being able to play!!

Create a new user and give it administrator rights.
Copy your eve game folder to another place (ie eve1)
Create a new shortcut to eve1\eve.exe
Right click on this shortcut and click properties
Click the Advanced button and put a tick in "Run with different credentials"
Click OK twice
Now when u run that shortcut choose the new user u made earlier and enter the password.
By doing the above Windows XP will run the above EVE session in separate memory space to another EVE running.
BTW I run both in Window mode cos it's easier to swap between them and sometimes EVE crashes when running in full screen and alt-tabbing.
Running EVE twice under the same user will always make the first one crash (If it doesn't u got lucky).

I run 5 accounts at the same time on a 56k dial-up connection on Windows XP Pro SP2 (all updates) with no problems at all. Here is my setup:
1. Each account is run from its own folder (or I get blue screen of death).
2. I have 2GB of RAM.
3. On all accounts I have "Sun is occluded by ships" turned off in the General options (ESC screen).
4. I run with my sound card completely disabled in Device Manager (or I get blue screen of death).
I can run for hours and hours with this setup and have never had it crash a single time other than when the server crashes and boots me out.

I run 2 accounts under win98, but I get display "errors" (graphical glitches) when both run but no crashes. Have been told to install it twice instead of using the same client twice to avoid the graphical glitches. Not tried because i usually only play with one account.

I had exactly the same problem. When running more than one account...in certain systems one of the clients would lock up (and need to be killed by task manager) and one or more of the other clients would ctd. The client that locked up was always an exodus client, but it could cause either a castor OR an exodus client to CTD (this was then TQ was running castor and SiSi running exodus). I could reproduce this with complete certainty in some system. I can't find the thread where I posted more details but the long and short was there were a *lot* of nvidia drivers levels that caused problems - I tried 66.93 and it fixed it for me. The 5x range were the ones I was using before and they had problems, I have also read that the new beta drivers also had problems

I am somewhat sceptical that running with different credentials would work for the reason that was states as I thought all NT based os/s ran each application in their own memory space.

I often try to run two clients - each one in its own folder sucking up 1+g of space.
My problems faced are two, both hugely annoying but not devastating.
1) The 'background' client will slow down to a horribly slow framerate (2 or 3 fps) after a minute 'under' the other. When selected that client will suddenly speed up madly and jerkily for 10 to 15 seconds before stabalizing (and the other one slows to a crawl).
2) Sound clipping, chirps, pops, *****les... I am not about to turn my sound *off* to enjoy a game, and while mining it tells me when rats have spawned again (targeting).
This is *HUGELY* annoying beyond all measure. If anything makes me want to set this game down more than anything else, it's problems with the sound.
Running:
P4 2.4g
512m RAM
Radeon 7500 128 (yes, outdated, I know)
Audigy 2 Platinum internal
DSL
Dual monitor but can only use the client(s) on 1 or the whole system slows to a crawl and becomes unstable.

well i have solved my problem, i run both accounts now just fine on one client/instal and neither crashes. i needed a bunch of updated drivers for my video card, they are current drivers as of 12/4/04 installed them and everything is back to normal, thanks for the help guys :)!!!
