I then read the Massively article - "EVE Evolved: Dissent in the EVE community"

And this line jumped out at me:

THIS LEAD ME TO: The French Revolution... and I thought it might be fun to try and cast the roles of both EVE and French Persons in a Who is Who in this, and what classic lines can be laid at their feet and finall what punishment was metered out.
We should start with:
Louis XVI of France - CCP <?> - " ? " - Virtual Guillotined.
Marie Antoinette - CCP <?> - "Let them eat Lag" - Virtual Guillotined.
Ok, have at it, a heathly venting of emo-nerd-rage is required.
Big fail on massivelys part for falling for the normal forum shennannigans.. That or they got some new writers that are secret eve nullsec fleet fight players and are using this new venue to spread the hate.

So whats wrong Zeke? U mad because without fleet fights and an fc to tell you what ship to use and how to fit it your lost in the sandbox and have no content to enjoy?

No serious arguments on that front. But as a realist I know that even with the current fleet lag that literally noone but the small overall percentage of fleet fight guys cares about and the general scruffyness of a few of the major content expansions of the last few years that eve is still a top notch mmo that has years and years of first class content to enjoy for new and not so new players. Saying that I realize that the bitter vets(bitter vet checking in) amoungst up are getting antsy for some new stuff to do and I'm all with them on that front. But this current trend of going emoragebatshiatcrazy over a niche gameplay mechanic is just too funny. Its like someone is *****ing that because one show out of the thousands to watch on daily cable is not coming in clear so by default every single cable channel is teh sux and all cable providers are clueless money grabbers.
