Hummm...cant say that I have. My ISP kicks me off line every 2.5 to 3.0 hours. All day long. And I go right back to where I was when I got kicked. Not to a gate or station. I think Concord has a new weapon to deal with outlaws, they take control of your autopilot and drag your arse to them. Concord are a bunch of lazy louts after all...

I look forward to you logging off at a safespot near a camped gate, and warping straight to that gate when you log in.

No problems tanking the sentrys, but tanking the sentrys, 2 cruisers, 2 ravens and a scorp was kinda futile.

It would be better if you could select either the normal gate/station or perhaps a moon for those less than civil members of EVE ;) Your Miner II perfectly blows up in its mount, wrecking for 900000000 damage. |

This has happened to me twice, both times I think when I relogged quickly. It only seems to happen if you quit EVE then log back in almost immediatly (Like you would if you relogged or crashed).
Someone mentioned this could be a CCP workaround for an exploit involving multiple accounts that allows you to stop-warp on the autowarp when you login.

I always log at a SS and this has NEVER happened to me, but has happened to others in our corp. Nothing about this was in the patch logs either. I think its probable this is a bug and not a new feature.

Well, they better have a workaround for my scorp. Cuz its 2 weeks since i filed the petition, and still i have nothing. And im fully aware that even if they replace my ship, it aint gonna be insured, and thereby causing me a 22 mill + fittings loss.

I've been a victim of this as well. I was criminally flagged and lost my taranis due to game crashes, and then it warping me to a gate when i logged back on.
While i can understand how this might help prevent ppl from trying to use log off/quick log on type exploits, it hurt me.
It also did this to me while i was hunting using both accounts. One crashed leaving the second character open for attack. I logged the first one on quickly to try to rescue the vulnerable character only to have to make an extra warp instead of it warping back to where he logged off from.
lucky for me they barely survived.

Edited by: Lygos on 21/12/2004 20:32:08 It's a good thing. Now when I want to attack someone, at least they know when I'm there. And after that, I better go home or elsewhere if I want to resume the attack later.
Now you can't camp your rivals on your own liesurely time table. Boohoo.
Say hello to long range tactics, diplomatic materialism and supply lines in eve. Say goodbye to smallfry being able to cripple the more organized groups in their own centers of operation.
Maybe defense forces will bother to actually defend their bases for once, rather than retaking them when it becomes a simpler matter. Maybe defense will eventually even become cost effective. Maybe it'll be worthwhile to try to leave a mark on the local eve universe besides vapor and bits of twisted metal. For the folks eager to set up shop in 0.0 for more purposes than sitting around waiting for targets to pass by, this is a godsend. Hopefully Kali brings more possibilities for the industrial side of eve. Why would anyone go way out into space just to visit? Wouldn't it be more interesting to be able to try togrow there?
Hopefully pirates will get the chance to adopt the role of Raiders rather than griefers and fightes will not be confronted with general anomie. Injecting features which demand "locality" into the game are injecting long term content. You can't ever devastate an opponent by blowing up his pod and ship. You can however create quite a mess by shrinking or displacing his zones of control.
There is still plenty of room for intelligent pirates to operate. Opportunistic gate camps don't take a smidge of brainpower to operate at nearly zero risk. You need nothing, no base of operations, no industrial activity, nada to back you up and you dissuade the activities of thousands of players at these yawnfests. For fighters, fleet logoff tactics are merely practical, and thus practiced en masse. Eliminate the practicality of this and you force fighters to adapt. Some of them might even like it.

What does this have to do with getting instawarped to a gate/station on logon? It doesnt stop gatecamps, it doesnt stop fleet logoffs, all it does is punish people who disconnected unintentionally. If it is an intended change, then all its done is force people to make more use of spy alts.
I dont know how you can possibly think this is a good thing.

Atleast I get to watch your hauler goes pop, as you CTD'ed while warping to an insta, then you log abck on, and autowarp to gate, where i WTFPAWN yr hauler you filled with goodies.
Go take a glass of whine. ---------------------------------------------- Trishys cookies they are !

Hopefully pirates will get the chance to adopt the role of Raiders rather than griefers and fightes will not be confronted with general anomie. the only thing i can think to blame for this is survey probes.
really!. before survey probes safespot busting used to be done by aligning toward the "target" then logging off, which inturn would propell your ship exactly 1au toward your target. then a quick relog and stop warp and you would be exactly 1au from where u used to be in the right direction.
since the patch your ship turns towards a object moon/stn/whatever. and flie towards that regardless of where your nose is pointed. i think relogging straight after a crash will send you towards a object rather than into a deep space 1au place. Maybe waiting out a while and you'll go to your last known place..
its all theory and none of this ****zle dizzle and bizzle can be proven but im bored. "Teh lord of Nonni"

Yes this should be changed as i dont think anyone wants to be disconnected and delivered to death, why warp at all just leave you right where you where when you disconnect.
Another thing i belive should be done is to have people only shot at by sentries if they attack in range or someone who is in range of the sentries, so if you attack someone nere sentries you will be shot at by all of them for the flag timer but if it is away from them you are still flaged but the sentries wont shoot you, i mean how do they know if i shoot someone at a belt.

Yes Kendar, of course you are right, I meam, CTD ONLY ever happens to ganking griefers right? It's only ever THEM that this is going to be a problem for? And it's not going to HELP gatecampers is it? Not with anyone who CTD's being automaticaly delivered right to them?
Do at least TRY to turn your brain on before posting. ------------

Gate campers are going to do it no matter whether we get delivered to them on CTD or not. We eventually need to use the gates to travel. It's only fair and equitable that they should also get delivered to the gates and the waiting claws of CONCORD and sentry guns (which gate campers aren't usually prepared to tank) from time to time.
Previously, the only folks getting destroyed at gates were the people who weren't bothering anyone. Now all you no-skill pirates can get a taste of what it's like. Luckily, CONCORD won't destroy your pods, so you should be thankful rather than complain.

lollerskates.
Once again, for the retarded. You get warped back to your spawn point in the system if you logoff / crash WHILST IN WARP.
You can still go to a safespot, come out of warp, stop and log off - when you log on you will come back to the safespot. This has been explained before in this thread, those of you who think this only affects pirates (when in fact it effects those lamers who run from the gate and logoff mid-warp to save their hides) are idiots.

I am anti-pirate, and i agree, this affects everyone. Not only does it affect flagged players in 0.1-0.4, but also in 0.0 when there is a pirate gank taking place at the gates. For those who tell the pirates to stop whining, you will realise sooner or later , that this helps no-one

For those who refuse to get it, "Don't log off in enemy territory."
If you CTD you CTD. It's no fun to play a game designed for those with the worst or those with best connections and setups. The game is slowly focusing away from favoring the rapid loading "I win" feature. Remember when they added cloaking to gatejumpers? Same strain of thought. Perhaps rapid reflexes will one day merely offer a certain percentage of advantage rather than a total "fait accompli" in conflicts. If CTD is common enough, it just becomes a cost of doing business for everyone. It is not a horrible thing laid upon you alone.
Back to the real subject: Don't log off in enemy territory. It's the new practical thing to do that might even make you look clever for doing it. Adapt or die struggling agaisnt the current. The game is going to improve and get more interesting no matter how much complaining you do.

I was gonna post that this was the way it appeared to be, but you had already done so.
The only difference to the version I was about to post was that I thought you warped back to whatever you location you warped from while logging on again - as if the auto warp-away would be cancelled because you're already it warp, and then the ship will just float in space for a minute at the location where you warped to, and then when you login again you appear at the place you warped to while logging off/ctd:ing and then autowarp to wherever you were warping from when you warped to that spot (ie the warp you are currently in will be treated as your auto-warp-away).
