Dear OP:
PLEXs follow a classic boom and bust cycle.
Start this 'simulation' when PLEXs are cheap. Because they're cheap, nobody buys them online for real money and sells them in game - if they only get 260M, what's the point? But also because they're cheap, many, many people, like you, use PLEXs to play. Since there's very little supply, and high demand, prices start to rise, very, very quickly. Eventually they get up to 330M or so, and people say 'holy frak, selling PLEXs is a great way to make isk.' And they do so - they buy a bunch of PLEXs online, and the prices drop precipitously. Then it starts all over again.
Ships, minerals, weapons, stuff like that are stabilized by the fact that people usually play the game one way: you, for instances, grind L4s and buy PLEXs every month. Others PVP a lot, and lose a relatively large amount of ships, equipment, etc. Industry people build ships. Miners mine. Traders tie it all together. All these people tend to play the same way day after day, week after week, month after month. The market for most stuff stabilizes.
But buying a PLEX does not necessitate a change in play style. step 1: punch credit card # step 2: ??? step 3: profit! There is no stabilizing factor in there. Just that when summer time rolls around, kids have enough time to grind out a PLEX every month, and in the winter time, they don't, and demand drops.
ps: get a job, goddamned hippie.

And looking at the market graphs...it sure looks like something illegitimate is going on with the prices.
Volume spikes, price goes up...volume drops off to lower than previous level immediately after, but price doesn't go down?
The stuff I see seriously looks like large scale, long term market manipulation to hold the prices high. Normally such a thing should come crashing down when the volume drop starts killing the prices and leaves the speculators driving it holding a lot of unmoving inventory, but that doesn't seem to be happening. There's been one, very short term price crash since march but otherwise it's pretty consistently holding above 300 million.
I can't figure it myself, but whatever it is, it's threatening my ability AND desire to continue to play the game, so it's making me pretty furious.
Any thoughts?
Confirming my broad EvE-wide manipulation of EvE Plex prices is going according to plan. Or it could be people are actually buying them

Pay for the sub. If not, Black Prophecy is coming out soon, and will be F2P. It probably will be a better match.
I'm no fan of the marketards either. But 15 bucks isn't much a month, and if you can't afford it, you are either a student who shouldn't be playing EVE so much, or need to really focus on real life and your work situation. Even with ten minutes of trading a day, that's still 5 hours of eve gameplay versus 1-2 hours of wages. You can save your isk for ships.

If the OP is a troll then grats to him, good job there.
If not, the situation is a bit uhm, complicated cos if:
1. can't afford to throw 15 bucks a month on EVE (especially if living in the 'Western World') or/and 2. aren't able to produce very easily 300-310M ISK a month on years old character;
Those two combined really tell something about the man. And I'm not even mentioning here doing lvl 4's in a Hyperion and the very confused ideas about the grand market PLEX conspiracy. All in all, sad picture, very sad. Extremely sad

Well if this keeps on happening I'd expect PLEX price to do up over 500mil pretty quick..
On an unrelated note I find it extremely odd that EVERY SINGLE ONE of them was destroyed.. GG CCP... GG....
Enjoy what I would consider... ill gotten money.

They were in one stack, and the guy blew up the wreck.

1. The marginal cost to CCP for one month of one player playtime is essentially zero.
2. The majority of people who pay for game time in plexes, as opposed to cash, do not really care if a PLEX costs 300M or 350M.
3. The majority of people playing Eve pay for it directly as opposed to using PLEXes.
Ergo, in order for PLEX destruction to have a significant impact on either CCP or players, it would have to affect at least 5k players (10% * 50k players). This death only affects 75 players, and is thus insignificant.
