I've been thinking for a long time about what type of new ships that should be added to eve, and personally i think it would be cool with ships that uses weapons from all 4 races.The ship should get bonus for all its weapons aswell.
Battleship example: 8 High slots 7 Med slots 5 Low slots
2 Projectile turret hardpoint. Bonus: 7.5% bonus to Large Projectile Turret tracking speed and 5% bonus to Large Projectile Turret Rate of Fire per level.
2 Energy Turret hardpoint. Bonus: 10% bonus to Large Energy Turret capacitor use and 7.5% bonus to Large Energy Turret tracking speed per level.
2 Missile Launcher hardpoint. Bonus: 5% bonus to Cruise and Siege Launcher Rate Of Fire and 10% bonus to Cruise Missile and Torpedo Velocity per level.
2 Hybrid turret hardpoint. Bonus: 7.5% bonus to Large Hybrid Turret tracking speed and 5% bonus to Large Hybrid Turret damage per level.
Resistance like a noraml battleship 9500 Shield 7500 Armor 8000 Structure 7500 capacitor 750m3 cargo capacity 125 Drone capacity and bandwidth

Problem with this is you would need 4 types of damage mods to do what most ships can do with one damage mod

B: When designing multi-race ship like this, please don't limit it to shield tanking
Fictional and not a suggestion multifaction BS:
6 high 6 med 6 low
4 lanchers 4 turrets 8000 shield 8000 armor 8000 structure 7000 capacitor 100 mbit/150m3 drones
No racial armor resist bonus
Caldari BS 5% shield resist Gallente BS 5% drone damage Amarr BS 5% armor resist Minmatar BS 5% speed ------------------------------------- I like to fly around and shoot stuff. |

I would much rather have 4 races of Tech 3 Battleships. Same deal as with the T3 cruisers; does anything, poorly.

I wouldnt mind a tri or quad race ship, but how would you stop it from being overpowered but keep it useful?

Maybe make it so that one pirate corp captured another corps faction frig/cruiser/BS and mix and match them that way. i.e. a worm with the daredevils minnie web bonus. That way you get tri-racial ships, with at least a semi reasonable backstory

I've always hoped that t3 cruisers would turn out to be something like this, except only one bonus type at a time via different subsystems. Keeps people guessing and things interesting. But alas, it wasn't meant to be. Half the current subsystems we have are pretty useless, and there is still the "optimal" fit that you have to follow.
