I was thinking of training up for a Oneiros, since I all ready have Gal Cruiser V. But I don't want to buy and fit the ship out just to find that the ship sucks. I have heard that its a crap ship, and that the Guardian is amazing.
Any one have any feed back on this?

It's fine.
Jesus H Christ it would help if you mentioned what you wanted it for.

Small gang roams, and medium scale PvP. Null sec
Small:15-40
Medium: 50-150
Anything larger and I would just use my Carrier.

Pair of guardians is amazing, but for a single logi an oneiros is way better.
And what sometimes can be handy, for example when there are 2 scimis already but some armor reps is also wanted, oneiros can be shield tanked.

Even in the face of two or more guardians, I still find the oneiros superior. Everyone relies on those energy transfer chains but they forget it's not all that hard to disrupt, especially when you've got at most 2 med slots on a guardian to counter damps, neuts, and ecm with. The oneiros can use an injected setup very effectively with its huge cargo and has up to four med slots for mods of your choice after injector.

Nowt wrong with the Ohnoeseiros.
Just as an example fit:
[Oneiros, New Setup 1] Damage Control II 800mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Armor Explosive Hardener II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II ECCM - Magnetometric II
Large Remote Armor Repair System II Large Remote Armor Repair System II Large Remote Armor Repair System II Small Remote Hull Repair System I
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Valkyrie II x5
Guardians are always going to have more repping power being able to sustain 4 or 5 remote reps but the Oneiros manages to claw some of that gap back by fitting Tech 2's wich the Guardian simply doesnt have the PG or CPU to do (theyre also a lot cheaper than Solaces or Arups). If you choose rep drones over the more ommon KM whoring combat drones that gap gets even smaller as the Oneiros drone bay is twice the size of the Guardian. It's as tough as the Guardian and doesn't rely on cap transfers and is therefore not as susceptible to EWAR. It's also cheaper than a Guardian.
It's not a bad ship by any measure.

So why even ask when a logistics V is prequisite for a triage module in any case and cruiser V gives you T2 cruisers (Ishtar !!!) It's only a month after all assuming you haven't skipped anything else vital (like targeting skills) for that carrier of yours.
As for Oneiros it's not as bad as people claim it to be everyone's just so focused on pew pew that they rely on guardian for cap to avoid using 'candy dispensers'.

Edited by: Seith Silverstein on 05/08/2010 13:26:08 I use my Oneiros for small (5-10) gang support as a solo repper. It works great, but it's not a Guardian. You get two Guardians with Afterburners fit and just orbit the gate/enemy ship to use Signature Radius and Velocity to tank them while dishing out huge reps. The Oneiros is a better skirmisher. My fit:
[Oneiros, PvP - Shield] Power Diagnostic System II Capacitor Power Relay II Capacitor Power Relay II Capacitor Power Relay II
10MN MicroWarpdrive II Large Shield Extender II Large Shield Extender II Invulnerability Field II Photon Scattering Field II
Large Remote Armor Repair System II Large Remote Armor Repair System II Large Remote Armor Repair System II Civilian Gatling Autocannon, Civilian Autocannon Ammo
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Warrior II x5 Hornet EC-300 x5
With maxed skills it's cap stable. You warp in to your gang at 50-70km or land on grid and burn out away from the enemy quickly. You use range and speed to tank, while the shield buffer lasts. It doesn't have the staying power of a guardian pair, or any Logistics pair for that matter - it's really the only logistics ship that tanks one way and reps the other. You can drop the Invulnerability Field (Yes, the Invuln, you get better ehp/resist balance/all that goodness by keeping the EM hardener) for an ECCM or a Tracking Enhancer depending on your needs. A maxed skill Tracking Enhancer from an Oneiros turns Large Gun tracking into Medium Gun tracking . It's far from "optimal", but if you're the only logistics on the field you can either sig tank it (armor, as someone above posted) or speed tank it (this fit).
Edit: The Civilian Gatling Autocannon MAKES THE FIT! How else can you efficiently ***** on to killmails?

Oneiros is a great ship, for most of the above reasons.
Though you NEED armor drones on these, and all oneiros fits. Don't ignore a bonus that practically gives you +1 repper that costs you no cap.

Some people really don't like injectors ;) This ship begs you for one. The above setups aren't taking advantage of what the oneiros offers, so they have less EHP (no 1600 plate), less cap stability than a guardian (while I don't like the cap chain, it does provide a considerable amount of extra cap if you don't get interrupted so better against neuts), and the same (or less!) ewar defense.
[Oneiros, blah] 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Damage Control II Reactor Control Unit II Armor Explosive Hardener II
Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburners Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 800 ECCM - Magnetometric II ECCM - Magnetometric II ECCM - Magnetometric II
Large Remote Armor Repair System II Large Remote Armor Repair System II Large Remote Armor Repair System II Medium Remote Armor Repair System II
Medium Ancillary Current Router I Medium Ancillary Current Router I
Replace eccm with sensor boosters as you see fit. 3 ECCM also makes this ship unprobable. Cap lasts approximately 8 minutes with regular 800s, 11 with navy boosters. Most guardians fit 4 solace reps and 2 energy transfers (in my alliance anyway), putting out 307.2 armor/s. This fit produces 298.66 without drones, so it'll out-repair the guardian if you go with rep drones while being harder to jam.
