I am just curious and i think this warrants a conversation following the ever increasing stand off between the decision makers and the gamers, if you were in a meeting with a decision maker from CCP, List 1 thing you would want them to do...
I would really like the decision maker to apologise to me for not listening to me.

Edited by: Professor Tarantula on 05/08/2010 14:36:11 Like i've said before, the game badly needs a monkey themed minigame.
The inability of the CCP devs to realize something so obvious shows just how disconnected they are from the players now.
"The great monkey caper" and "Banana madness" are some brainstorming ideas to start with. Trust me on this, CCP. My finger is on the pulse of the EVE community, and deep down this is the new content everyone truly wants.

Mainly because when i troll it makes twisted sense and doesnt sound like repetitive 5 year and rolling never changing cry baby threatening attitudes.
I.e. You. Butt hurt over CCP not doing what you and the others want. Last time i remember CCP caving to us players wad Zulupark announcing potential changes to carriers some 2+ years ago.
I admit i was against that but i would not have supported defacing CCP in the media then or now. Nor did i support this constant thread manufacturing.

Get over yourself, we've tried speaking to the decision makers and it all goes on deaf ears. The game, the experience, the support the very thing that made the whole eve community so great has been butt hurt by the ignorance of CCP. What makes my 15 bucks any different from your 15 bucks? NADA, The quicker you realise that by sticking together and voicing "WE ARE NOT HAPPY", only one can hope the decision makers will be taking note and will be more committed to restoring the gamers faith and feeling that actually they do listen and care. We still haven't had any response or reassurance from any of the decision makers and instead of someone taking ownership for what is a growing problem we are left to play a game that is badly broken whilst my 15 bucks is used to pay for something that i couldnt care less about. I think i would like CCP just to say sorry, sorry for hurting the eve community.

Forums are an easy way to vent some anger at the whole situation, and it be nice if someone from CCP just acknowledge and empathetic towards our bad feeling!

With any good company communication is key and there has been a complete break down of communication. Eve players want the game sorting, CCP want to increase their revenue and they are doing this by taking the very thing that is needed and pushing them off on other projects. Anyhoow, I'm bored of reading trolling comments, i was hoping to create a serious post where poeple could voice what they wanted from the decision makers instead i got burned LOLz - butthurt now!

No, someone else who thinks that the people who do own the forums (CCP, in case you forgot) should start working to make them a place where the people who play the game can come to discuss the game in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Instead it's like walking into a chihuahua kennel, from the moment you step in you're deafened by mindless yapping and end up spending all your time trying not to step in **** while keeping them from humping your ankles and ****ing all over your shoes.

And I laughed because this is so true:

Yes, the EVE community is heading for a new low.
Not only is the meme complaint of the month herd insisting that they know far better than CCP how they should redo their game design, fix their code, and direct the course of their very successful corporation... but now they are demanding apologies when their idiocy is ignored or politely told that it can't be done that way.
These are the same brainics that told CCP that they were idiots for not mass stress testing their new code revisions on the LIVE server.
This is also the same crowd that steadfastly refuses to realize that they are making it incredibly easy for the local forum trolls to whip them into a frenzy. All the trolls have to do is drop the right catch phrase non-sense like "CCP is ignoring us", "no bug fixes for 18 months", "no one is working of fixing lag", "EVE is being completely ignored for Incarna", "CCP must do as we say or it will end up as the next NGE disaster", ad infinitum.
It really doesn't matter that none of the above is true, if you say it often enough on the internet it MUST be true... right?
What a bunch of lemmings.

Nope, but some of us recognize this is just a game and whilst it is having issues now perhaps this isn't the worst thing ever to happen.
A few years ago I worked with a guy (Brian) who was heart-broken - HEART-BROKEN - when Farscape went off the air and, because he had lost focus (or never had it), he decided that emailing our 200-person office to get them to complain to Sci-Fi that it needed to be brought back was the way to go. He went as far as to leave a clipboard with a petition in the lobby (and bear in mind, this was a Pharmaceutical company, not TOO many geeks and techs) for people to sign.
During one of our IT meetings, my VP asked him why he was doing this and he literally went off about how terrible this had been and what an injustice this was, and quite honestly, made himself look like a fool who had lost touch with reality.
For some of those of us that DO see this as just a game, many of you are acting like Brian. No matter how much you love it, it's just a game. A game that many of us are still enjoying, warts and all.

You realize you just proved his point and put yourself squarely in the emo lemming camp right?
You complain that the game is horribly broken, and keep right on paying every month (because you like the smell of the crap you shovel).
We point out that we are experiencing no serious problems with the game outside of large fleet engagements, and that we are just as happy paying to play this rather brilliant game today as we were when it first went gold.
Now who is the level headed consumer, and who is the basement dweller that likes the feel of having their panties in a bunch?

thats quite a narrow minded, un-educated response in all honesty. I pay for it because I want to, but I do expect a level of service. The level of service has been fantastic up until lets says about 5 months ago. I've been patient, wrote personal emails to Customer Service offering my feedback, i have politely given my opinion. Waiting patiently for some sort of communication and we have got non. Your right why on earth should i pay any longer. May be some of us paid for a years service???? Ever thought about that?

If you're so dissatisfied and feel CCP isn't listenting to how you think the game should run why don't you stop wasting your time stomping your feet and screaming and go spend your time playing something else? You're going to give yourself ulcers. Go play a better game, one where the devs do listen to your individual needs and where they do exactly as you want. Why waste your time here? CCP is obviously making you extremely unhappy. Why are you still here?
You realize that even if you have a 1-year subscription you are NOT obligated to play, right? That CCP doesn't force you to play their "crappy" game, right?

This good advice in a nice way. One more point to add...make this decision and the transition to another game without telling us...makes us happier on the forums.

Tell you what, go get a job, then use your money to pay for a years subscription for something, lets say in your case a years membership to a gym because you so obviously need it. Lets say you enter the gym and its in a pretty nice state clean equipment is working well and you have a good relationship with the members. 3 months in you notice the gym becomes dirty, the staff donÆt do anything to help, and no matter how many times you give them feedback nothing gets done. 6 months later and still nothing, youÆve invested nearly 5 years paying for what IS (see what IÆve done there, have I ever once mentioned its crappy?) a good game. I may not be OBLIGED to play Eve, but I paid for it in one state which is what kept me coming back all these years and CCP ARE obliged to maintain the level of service I paid for.
Go **** yourself, IÆm not actually stomping or screaming, I just love winding little girls up like you who feel obliged to comment on issues that quite frankly you donÆt care about!

Edited by: MatrixSkye Mk2 on 06/08/2010 12:26:10 You mean like you wasting our times? Here you go, just for you:
Originally by: zz01shagsme Tell you what, go get a job, then use your money to pay for a years subscription for something, lets say in your case a years membership to a gym because you so obviously need it. A better analogy would be:
Lets say you enter the gym and its in a pretty nice state clean equipment is working well and you have a good relationship with the members. 6 months in you notice one of the machines is running slow. The staff still cares and is trying to keep everything running in order. But you become disgruntled. Now in your view the whole gym sucks. You start trash-talking and smacking the owners. If others think the gym is still pretty decent and don't think the gym deserves your decent you call a lemming. You feel that anyone that disagrees with you is a troll. Now you don't like what the owners are doing to the gym and you feel they should listen to you and your 3 friends because you know better. 1 month later and still nothing, they're not listening to your selfish spews. They just want to do what's best for the whole population instead of you. So you decide to stick around and crap all over the gym and deface it. And anyone that asks you to relax and let them do their work uninterrupted you insult and tell them to go **** themselves.
By the way, that was YOUR limited response, not mine. I just repackaged it and sent it back your way. It seems you didn't like it :(.

Well the 1st thing they should do is have a mass banning of all the trolling accounts that post of this forum , you people as a whole are have the WORST attitudes in the entire gaming industry. Eve and CCP as a whole is the BEST MMO on the market , Sure it has problems (they all do) but over all Eve And CCP have created some really unique as mmos go.
virtually gotten all ISk farmers and sells or spammers away from it's player base. Have crated a game that lets you have every skill in the game (it takes over 20 years but hey , nothing is free in this world)
Does Eve have lag? sure it does but SO DOES EVERY OTHER MMO ON THE Market , and that will not change until tcp/ip protocol's are re written..
So yes the 1st thing they need to do is take all of you complainers and give yens the Boot , literally -TLR

But you become disgruntled. Yes at the apparent no action being taken Now in your view the whole gym sucks. Nope not at all you need to read my friend, the game IS awesome but the communication isnÆt and prioritising isn't. You start trash-talking and smacking the owners. Proof please? If others think the gym is still pretty decent and don't think the gym deserves your dissent you call them lemmings. IsnÆt that where my opinion was trolled, I wasnÆt going to stoop to your level but what the hell this is the most fun IÆve had on a forum, ever. You feel that anyone that disagrees with you is a troll. Not really, IÆm quite open minded but donÆt respond well to insult. Now you don't like what the owners are doing to the gym and you feel they should listen to you and your 3 friends because you know better. I infact love what the owners are doing with Eve, I just wish they would sort some of these bugs out as a priority and get back to basics 1 month later and still nothing, they're not listening to your selfish spews. IÆll let you off with your insult here but I will say whats selfish about my opinion, again you seem to have put images in your head They just want to do what's best for the members as a whole instead of just you and your 3 buddies. But how do they not what best for their memebers when they dont listen? So you decide to stick around and crap all over the gym and deface it. Nope not like that at all however if you looked at the forums I think my 3 buddies could actually be more like 65 pages worth. Well lets see, there is the regular maintenance of the system which i classify as what they always do. I also classify bringing out new content as always do and I have said on many occassions that this what keeps me coming back. That of course creates bugs which are not fixed straight away, this is my opinion and I have come to this conclusion by the many petitions I have opened and replied with "this will be fixed in the next patch". And still we wait. Lag is something no-one can escape, and I dont ever recall mentioning this. You play interenet games your bound to suffer from lag.

This thread was a tough one to rate.
At first, it was obvious flamebait/trolling and I was just going to give you a 2/10, then the "Lemmings" followed in and had to add their input. This bumped it to a 5, however you ended up trolling yourself and in the end just wound up trying too hard so you got bumped back down to a 2...

If others think the gym is still pretty decent and probably the best in town and don't think the gym deserves your dissent you call them lemmings. You feel that anyone that disagrees with you is a troll. Now you don't like what the owners are doing to the gym and you feel they should listen to you and your 3 buddies because you think you know how to run the gym better. 1 month later and still nothing, they're not listening to your selfish spews. They just want to do what's best for the members as a whole instead of just you and your 3 buddies. So you decide to stick around and crap all over the gym and deface it. And anyone that asks you to relax and let them do their work uninterrupted you insult, telling them they have a limited view and that they should go **** themselves.
Spot on. .
