You're playing a space themed Kapilands, not EVE. Go out there, get a li'l dirty, take an f'ing chance.
Damn.

Well... let's see... I could easily buy a lifetime's worth of PLEX with the ISK I could convert into liquid form right now (depending on how long that lifetime is, I could do it on more than just one account)... so there's absolutely no reason for me to leave.

P.S. Plus, there's no reasonable alternative. All of them suck, EVE sucks the least.
Basicly this, plexes and no one as come out with a game worth wasting my time on yet.

Wormhole life is mostly free of issues, that and my subs aren't up until October anyway so it's rather pointless to even think about leaving. If the market goes into depression thanks to reduced pewpew that will affect just about anyone who doesn't play this as a singleplayer mission grinding bot, so I'm keeping an eye out on what's going on everywhere.
I must admit to not having much to look forward to though; I don't go to a station much, noone is going to fight over my one PI planet and I don't have an xbox to get involved in that. I don't need to do empire PvE all that much either although any improvement there would be a welcome thing to do in odd moments. What have I got to look forward to in the next two years?

Because this is the only mmorpg that I know of that I can kill someone take the stuff off his corps. kill his character, make him lose expensive stuff in his head. and if I'm really luck kill him again and make him lose XP. That and I don't have to sit and grind for XP. i.e. I don't have to kill NPC 24/7 if I want to keep up with the jones'. + just cause you are lvl99 doesn't mean a character lvl 22 has absolutly no chance. the smarter player wins, not the older player. that and a bunch of low sp frigs can beat the crap out of a 100mil sp BS pilot. Try having a bunch of lvl 1 characters kill a lvl 99 character in WOW. It just ain't ever going to happen.

Because when it comes to MMORPGs this game has the least issues. Right now there is no other title in 'sandbox' genre worth subbing imo.

Because to date I have not found a game that is as challenging as Eve. The open "sand-box" style allows more scope for imagination, adaptation and improvisation than anything else I've come across.
Also add to this the (generally) more mature player base, and considerable rewards available to those who cooperate and integrate well with others. All this makes for an enjoyable gaming experience that is way ahead of the competition (not that there is a direct competitor afaik).
This has lead me to make some very good friends in-game, and out. Despite the current problems with Eve (yes I am in 0.0 and hate the lag) it is often those friendships that keep me logging in.
Peace. ----

Aldready had a 200 man Mom/carrier/dread battle, killing and losing ships all the time.
Fk i love this game.

The game embraces the idea of "emergent gameplay" and player created drama in a persistent context better than any others I can find.
The idea that the game has gone on for years , has a history that I can peruse (I dont' need to be directly involved to find it intereting.. that i was an industrialist funding both sides of a war effort still makes the outcome of the war effort of value) and a political history I can anticipate makes it thrilling.
Possesion of wormholes is pretty cool.. it would be great if peopel could put up more signs at the gates or something really marking turf visually.
Anyway.. the idea of tens of thousand s of people trying in different ways to make a mark ont their section of activity ... being able to shift at will.. its great(trade is really fun for me.. dominating markets ..colluding with other players)

Yeah, reminds me of some local smack from a couple of days ago. Some noob asked me how rich I was, and I said "well...about 1.3bil liquid right now, but I like to spend it too often, so I DO have ****-tons of toys though"
And some other guy who had owned me in his vexor after he had scouted my fit said "he's poor"
My friends have more isk/assets than me, but I actually SPEND much of what I make on FUN. But recently, after seeing SOOOOOOOOOO many people that seem to be rolling in isk...they buy that isk with plexes, right?
Please tell me they bought it!

Why do I keep playing... hmm, a couple reasons.
One reason would be, I haven't spent actual money to play Eve in years. All ISK, all PLEX.
Another reason would be... I stay away from blob warfare, and thus am completely unaffected by the lag that plagues those Eve players, who insist on cramming 500 buddies into a system before engaging the enemy.
Another would be... well, wtf is the alternative? No other game lets me be this evil.

Reason I stay? None of the issues the forum alt armies are raging over affect me in the slightest or require me to do anything more than have an opinion.
Let me address each point individually.
Nullsec lag - no effect on me, I'm a lowsec pirate who only very occasionally hits 0.0 for a quick roam which has gone off without a hitch every time. However CCP has demonstrated to my satisfaction that they are serious about working on it. Rollback might be an option if everything introduced didnt work but thats not the case and hasnt been with either of the two expansions at the heart of the controversy, why take away something thats working fine when you can instead just fix the bit thats broken.
DUST - I'm willing to wait until the actual game is released before I judge its worth to the eve universe. Besides god forbid a games developement company should do something unheard of like develop a video game to expand its established IPs customer base. As for the console vs PC part of this debate i honestly dont care, if its on PC I'll buy it if I think my PC can run it and if its on 360 I'll go 'Oh well I dont own a 360 so **** it I'll just put the odd contract up for teh lulz or to **** with people I dont like'
Amount of Devs devoted to Incarna - We've been whining about it not being finshed for over 2 years and now you whine when they decide to devote some actual resources to it, I guess CCP cant win with you people can they. Without concrete information on what each dev is skilled in and what they are doing on the project I dont think anyone can truely say they would be better off working on EVE anyway.
CCP isn't listening to us!!! - Considering the volume of utter **** thats been poured on anyone from CCP whos dared to say anything in the last month or so i really dont blame them. Im sure they are taking note of well reasoned and useful feedback but CCP is a lot bigger than it used to be and has different people at the top now, you cant really expect it to be as quick to respond as it used to be. However having said that I do agree that some of the communications we have had have been rather badly handled and have caused needless upset, reference the 'polished quality' comment and the unfortunate timing on the awards vote request thread for prime examples of that.
They should be fixing (insert minor issue of choice here)!! - Until we can say exactly how long a fix would take and how much in the way of resources can be allocated to complete it we dont have any idea how viable performing any fix could be....Guess who does and most likely already has.
Anyway i think ive rambled on enough for now

Well.. EVE has a very big history for the people who are here for a while.. and this also gets new players to play this game, to be part of the history. But why does EVE has soo much history? It's because of its sandbox design and the option to win or loose everything in a moment notice.
Such a history can't be made by any company, it has to happen. But the company needs to make the game to alow such things to happen. I think Earthrise has the potential to become such a game like EVE but it won't happen within it's first 2 years. And the game needs enough players stick with the game in order to grow a history and stay alive.
For now I will stick around with EVE and see how it plays out. Can't say I am very happy with the current (and past) course of EVE. And I believe so aren't many other players. Maybe I will try Earthrise if enough of my ingame friends will try and like it.

Because while the situation is far from perfect, EVE is still a damn good game offering possibilities no other MMO comes even close to.
And because despite the overblown whine-fest and mass-hysteria currently hemorrhaging factually untrue canned phrases all over these forums, and the preposterous sense of self-entitlement that is fueling these, I am looking forward to what Incarna and Dust will bring to the table.

Mostly 'cause I'm having a great time and looking forward to Incarna. The shriekers and their grievances have very little to do with me and what I enjoy in EVE - exploration, socialising, roleplay, being a part of a setting that self-validates the actions of its occupants..
In other words, no, I'm not complaining, I'm still having fun, and I'm still paying. Hell, my last payment was about a month ago and was for six months' access. 'Most complaint I've ever felt cause to voice was to point out that last Dev' blog about the current short-term plan could've been rather less clumsily written.

I think CCP should introduce a 50 pilot cap in 0.0 systems. That should fix lag, and put all the resources to jita instead (1400? not enough at all! If eve is to expand, Jita's cap needs to be expanded too).
I mean, most of the time i visited 0.0, there only 3-4 pilots anyways. by placing a 50 pilot cap, you can reduce lag.

"0.0 Experience" is not all it's cracked up to be. Camping access gates, fighting over virtual territory for little to no gain - at least you, the footsoldier, won't be the one gaining anything from it - oh, and seeing no-one 10 jumps around. Man, I really miss that. Not. Low-sec is the real mans turf, 0.0 is full of sloppy crying vaginas. Peace out.

P.S. I play eve because I like the game. Unlike apparently a ton of people I have rarely had anything to complain about in EvE.
