Edited by: Chara Vega on 09/08/2010 20:02:45 I will play in high stakes EOH poker tournaments. If I win, ISK is returned with interest. If I lose, nothing is returned. No collateral.
This is not a troll, I am dead serious. I have been known to get royal and straight flushes.

..As a cash poker player, I can say that giving away a 20% steak offer is unheard of. Especially for a tournament offer. Tournament staking offers are usually in the range of 55-75%, as the variance in tournaments is high. The odds that Chara Vega winning a tournament are worse then the odds of Chara Vega being a scammer with a new angle.

So what's your past performance like?
One would think that if you were any good, you would be making any money you need by well.. playing poker. If on the other hand you need the loan because you've lost all your money playing poker, would it be a good idea to give you the loan?

"Good" is a bit vague, don't you think? Is the isk tied up in anything which could serve as collateral?

his isk being tied up or not doesn't matter considering that he's asking for a no-collateral loan

I made enough to get my station trading alt started and set up my PVP character with HACS/BS/BC in 0.0.
ISK is tied up in: A) Ships in 0.0 on my PVP account B) Station trading on my trade account
I realize this isn't for everyone, but for those that have some extra ISK and would like to make 50% interest with odds better than a coin toss.

Edited by: Syds Sinclair on 09/08/2010 22:14:48 ..I'll give any potential staker the option to look over this staking page on 2+2 forums, which was created by David Sklansky, who if you do not know by name, no introduction by me will do him justice. Look him up if interested.
Furthermore, do not invest in this service and/or product.
Edit: Please provide your HEM or PT3 graph that proves your are an experienced tournament or SNG poker player.
If you cannot, then I would advise any potential stakers that their expected value for this for this investment will be just as good should you invest in any other non collateral offering.

..So you are saying that he started playing and learned hold'em from EOHpoker only. Never once deposited and played on a site like Full Tilt. If that is the case, then even more reason to not stake him.

I think everyone has the same chance as you of getting these hands, it's called probability. As you're the Doyle Brunson of the EOH world you should know that the odds of getting dealt these hands are pretty astronomically slim. And they're the same odds as me, or any of the fules above us that have posted.

So... +50% if you win, -100% if you lose. You're basically advertising you win more than 66% of games at those odds to break even. If you're that good, why are you broke? Retired from corp sales. Time to spend some of this on pretty explosions :) |

Edited by: PureMurder on 10/08/2010 15:29:04 Poker is a fairly high variance activity and it's not likely that someone will be able to make consistent profit by staking you on a nightly basis.
There's a term for a staking arrangement where the loser has to keep playing for the staker, I think it's called "make-up" or something like that. Basically if you lose the guy can keep shipping you money and you have to keep playing for him.
Because of the variance in poker, staking arrangements "should" be long-term to be advantageous to both parties. I'm not quite sure the math of it, but what you're offering is -EV.
edit: I've heard that EOH cash games to be soft (not to me though as I'm a limit player and NL is hard for me lol), not sure about the tourneys, but I also see that the rake is really high on the cash games so I'm not sure if it's worth playing EOH either. :/ Not sure what the rake is on the tourneys though, that might be worth it.

Edited by: Borun Tal on 10/08/2010 18:00:21 What are you offering in collateral for the isk? "If I win" is a joke... Tell ya what: I'll give you 500mil in exchange for a Rattlesnake or Machariel as collateral. If you win, you pay me 750mil, and you get back the collateral. That's fair.

Edited by: Gabriel Virtus on 11/08/2010 09:15:40 So you want us to finance your buy-in and in return, we only get 150% of our loan back? This doesn't account for the chances that 1) you are a scammer or 2) you simply lose the tournament.
Also, the items you listed as what your money is tied up in could be used as collateral.
If you win as much as you say, it would be crazy to have ANY money on your trading alt as you would do much better simply playing tournaments.
Cute, although ridiculous. You are right, this "loan" isn't for everyone... just the incredibly stupid or people with literally no desire to keep any of their isk. If anyone reading is thinking about giving this guy a chance, I could offer you a much much better offer ;)

Even assuming OP has above average poker skills, the odds will stack against him for the simple reasons that IF you're playing with your last isk this influences the way you play. You'll play tighter (take less risks). You are probably (well, i'm a regular so i know this for a fact) against multi-billionaires who play more aggressive (right tactic for DT's).
Ofcourse, there is a luck factor involved, but considering these circumstances i would give the OP a 30 - 40% chance to win.
On a side note, if i show a detailed record to MD of 80% wins on EOH tournament games, would people be interested in investing?
