Whenever I go on missions, and I target a Gurista Wrecker (i think its this one), the targetted icon looks like a silhoette of voyager....or is it just me.. |

Edited by: Danton Marcellus on 22/12/2004 17:36:55 Guess this actualizes the question of being able to declare war on a NPC corporation, anyone g'hey-hey enough to produce anything similar to the Voyager should be hammered into oblivion.

I'd say its most like the ship that takes a venerable and revered franchise and runs it straight into the ground with bad acting and horrible writing in an attempt to cash in on rabid fans of the genre.
Whichever ship that is, sounds kind of like an ishtar to me. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |

A scout class ship from Star Trek would wipe the floor with an aramada of battleships from EVE.
1) Star Trek Lasers (Phasers for the pedantic) travelling at the speed of light correctly never miss any target they are locked on to. Where Eve lasers couldn't hit a fking moon from 10KM away.
2) Star Trek weapons can actually do damage! Eve weapons would struggle to destroy anything even if it was the 1 in 100 shot that actually hits its target.
3) Big Star Trek Battleships can actually kill sh**y frigates in a single hit! Eve weapons can't even hit a frigate, despite the fact that the weapon always visually hits the target frigate, I guess the HUGE frigate shields must harmlessly absorb all that energy?
4) Star Trek doesn't change the rules of Physics in it's universe based on little babies that cry about the fact their 500k frigate died in a few shots to a Battleship that costs up to ~22,000% more.
etc.

jovian frig.
if you ever looked into S.E.T.I they rank any civilisation that may exist on another planet by its 4 types.
the star treck ships fall into a type 2. atm humanity in rl is a type 0. the 4 playable eve races are type 1/2. jovian are type 2. borg type 3.
im a massive trek fan and general sci-fi and space nut. so come get me

I dunno dude. Last time I checked that POS Defiant, and the other POS Delta Flyer that Tom Paris built out of scrap parts sure seemed to make it through a lot of fights concerning Battleships. These were both tiny ships compared to their counterparts. Granted Defiant is closer to a cruiser class vessel but still relatively small and sturdy compared to most Star Trek ships.
I have seen plenty of phasers fired and completely miss the targets.
I think Paris would have pitched a fit if the Delta Flyer got smooshed every episode. "I have never had so much fun playing a game that I have trouble staying awake playing!" |

I would have to agree with the Thorax on looks. Everything else, not too sure about, as i lost ability to watch it when my family moved from the city to the sticks.

Anyone who has a personal opinion on this matter will be known as ComicBookShop Guy from The Simpsons from now on.
None of you had to even ask for a picture to see what an Intrepid class Star Trek ship looks like.
Are none of you ashamed?
