what's so bad about watching a sci-fi TV show?

2) Star Trek weapons can actually do damage! Eve weapons would struggle to destroy anything even if it was the 1 in 100 shot that actually hits its target.
3) Big Star Trek Battleships can actually kill sh**y frigates in a single hit! Eve weapons can't even hit a frigate, despite the fact that the weapon always visually hits the target frigate, I guess the HUGE frigate shields must harmlessly absorb all that energy?
4) Star Trek doesn't change the rules of Physics in it's universe based on little babies that cry about the fact their 500k frigate died in a few shots to a Battleship that costs up to ~22,000% more.

I dunno dude. Last time I checked that POS Defiant, and the other POS Delta Flyer that Tom Paris built out of scrap parts sure seemed to make it through a lot of fights concerning Battleships. These were both tiny ships compared to their counterparts. Granted Defiant is closer to a cruiser class vessel but still relatively small and sturdy compared to most Star Trek ships.
I have seen plenty of phasers fired and completely miss the targets.
I think Paris would have pitched a fit if the Delta Flyer got smooshed every episode.
the defiant is like a t2 assault frig. and the delta flyer was a hybrid iirc of borg tech.

None of you had to even ask for a picture to see what an Intrepid class Star Trek ship looks like.
Are none of you ashamed?
LMAO, but then had to stop and bow my head due to the fact i wouldnt have to ask for a pic of almost any startrek, star wars, Babalyon5 ship.
Have you not ever played SFC3? X-wing\Tie fighter?
Maybe i shouldnt be posting this.

really? then why do their phasers miss all the time?
Quote: 2) Star Trek weapons can actually do damage! Eve weapons would struggle to destroy anything even if it was the 1 in 100 shot that actually hits its target.
really? i hardly ever see star trek weapons do any real damage, unless they accidentally hit the anti-matter core of the enemy ship. I guarantee that a Typhoon with some high-calibre artillery will outdamage any star trek ship.

but then again, star trek physics make absolutely no sense at all to begin with. got a problem that needs solving? simple! just reverse the polarity on the dilithium matrix! but only figure this out during the last half of the episode or else!
etc.

Why are we talking about Voyager? I watched that once, nearly hung myself.
If your gonna talk about ships in Eve beig like TV show ships what about Babylon 5?! And thats actually a good programme too...
Thorax = White Star Shadows = Jovian ships The Centauri ships look a bit like the scythe (whatever the sickle shaped minnie cruiser is) The Earth Destroyers look a lot like Badgers lol The Starfury IIs look like Rifters. ------------------------------------------------ I've always owned Kehmor, cheap as chips off Ebay

i think that, considering the vast amount of worlds/colonies that the races have and their enormous industrial capacity (stripmining entire moons in less than a decade), the Eve races are well on the way to a type 3 civilization. I'm sorry, but eve's industrial base and general technological capabilities seem more advanced than that of star trek.

yeah, industrial wise the eve races are impressiv aswell their ftp speed via jumpdrives is way faster than anything starfleet has as engines to offer.
though eve races seem definatly to lack power generation abilty, and together with this aswell huge lack of shilds/armor/real space speed, cpu power and most important damage potential.
though, for the damage thing, I do not know any facts to calc it right, but I somehow doub that it is in the high mt range.

That would rule.

i remaned my first ****ty ship uss voyager..
i think on star trek, the ship is as powerful as it needs to be, in which ever situation..
one week it is as powerful to disable a ship with one shot.
next week the ship they ocudl disable has blown up all the consoles on the bridge.
honsitly thou, the borg cube is faster and much more efficient.. but yet voyager with their ****ty ship in com[parison can get round em.. dosnt make sense lol.
also in the early episodes of star trek they say wehn traveling at warp you can only go in straght lines no turnign without droping to impuse speed. but yet in the games they have broughto ut you can warp in circles. ?!
also, they can do anythign they want to.. if there was an entire fleet of warships comign at them.. and they had shields at 5%.. they woudl just have to "i know, lets reroute the plasma from the seciondary pathways in the dilithium matrix, to enhance the overall feedback in the emiters.. this will then cause theit quantomic stucture to overload"..."like putting too much air in to a baloon" giving them enough to kil anyone.
on the physics note.. on star trek they change the physics all the time to suite the episode.. i remebr one where a ship coudl phase? is it and fly thruogh matter (rocks and thigns)..
just because osme guy invented somethign to give more power to a cloaking device?!#
also it takes em about 3-4 hours to get absolutely anywhere.. "ships have just droped out of warp at the edge ofthe system.. theyvwill be in wepons range within 4 hours"... "oh goodie gives us 4 horus to reoute pwowerr to the shields from the...."
y not just jump to warp for aboutt 1seconds and be right on top of em?
bah...
il have a voyager coz no matter what u throw at it.. it will survive. remebr in the episode the year of hell. the kason were attackign every 5mins.. there wasnt a console on the ship left without being blown up.. but yet they coudl go to warp mosto f the time and even fire back..

actually i should think quite the opposite, Stations and titans are gigantic constructions that have no parallel in star trek, such structures must require enormous amounts of power to function. As for shields/armor, how do you know these are lacking? just because you die quickly in combat? :) no, considering the huge amount of kinetic power alone that it takes to break the armor it's really very impressive, it takes a large amount of head-on artillery shots, with rather advanced projectiles. It would be the equivalent of levelling mount everest, an enormous amount of firepower and armor capacity that star trek can't match. Shields again, they seem very advanced (and capable of taking more of a beating than star trek shields if one compares the shows to the game). As for CPU power, remember, there's addons such as quantum computers, it might seem that these ships have a small amount of computer power, but remember, they have many many systems to run that we never get to deal with, such as interstellar communications (a quantum entanglement process, something that would require an ENORMOUS amount of computer power) and these weapons are rather advanced, i don't quite think you understand the complexities involved with hitting a relatively small target 20 km's away with a direct weapon.

though, for the damage thing, I do not know any facts to calc it right, but I somehow doub that it is in the high mt range.
it would be very easy for it to be so, the matari for instance favor nuclear weapons, (which can get pretty high up there in the MT range) their primary foe are the amarr, who have the toughest armor around, they'd have to have some pretty highly damaging weapons for succesful combat. Then there's railguns, with the kind of projectiles and calibres we're talking about in eve, we're talking extremely dangerous weapons, the same goes for the regular projectiles. for instance, my personal favourite (IRL) would be phased plasma. Plasma you might be aware of, is the 4th state of matter...the substance the sun is made of. burns at thousands and thousands of degrees celsius, they are nigh unstoppable.
