Was going away for a time and therefore unsubscribed last month. As as still had about 12 days left of playtime I put in a long skill hoping it would be finished when I came hope again and resubscribed. But when logging in again this morning I found that my training queue had been inactive, with a skill ( a very short one) that finished some seconds after login and the other ones untrained, meaning I've lost about 13 days of training time.
The question is: Is this a bug and can be petitioned, or do you need to unsubscribe on the day your subscription runs out to not lose any gametime? Feels like it should have been the first case, but as none of the skills have been training...

skill training ends 1-2days after sub ends. so you cant petition it. this is semi new btw.

Not sure about your skills but unsubscribing just prevents an automatic renewal of your account subscription, you still had those 13 dsys of playtime

Training continues for a couple of days after you unsubscribe. I believe there is an issue with the skill queue if one skill finishes and another starts between the time training halts and you last logged on. I think this is petitionable.

Thanks for the answers. If I still had those 13 days of playtime it must be some sort og bug, so I'm hoping for the skillpoints to be reimbursed. If not it would be kind of sour to lose that kind of training time... I didn't log in after unsubscribing, so it might be something like that that caused it.

Can tell you now, this will not be reimbursed.
Its by design. A little while ago they stopped ghost training, and as the previous posters said, skills will cease 2 days after subscription end. -- Guru'Kha |

Its worth a petition just to make sure it gets checked for that known bug but i wouldnt assume you'll get that time back.
Just make sure you give as much detail as you can when you write the petition too. GMs with info they can check and act on immediatly will be happy GMs who devote themselves to answering the issue rather than having to spend god knows how long digging around to find things before they can act on it and not having time to sort it out properly.

Try reading the post next time, he still had 12 days active that he was using to train skills.

It's a known issue; petition and a GM will fix it for you.

Sorry Estel, but I don't see an issue here:
1) Teidor Hits cancel sub 1a) Teidor puts in long training 2) Teidor Goes on holiday 2a) Sub runs out then 2b) Skills stop training a few days later 3) Teidor returns from holiday to find unsubbed days did not train.
Ghost skill training was removed a while ago so nothing is petitionable.

Then you fail Reading 101. As I read it:
1) Teidor hits cancel sub. 2) Teidor puts in long training queue. 3) Teidor logs out. 4) Training stops. 5) Teidor goes on holiday unaware that anything is wrong. 6) Sub runs out 12 days later. 7) Teidor comes back later still. 8) Teidor resubscribes to find nothing has trained. 9) Teidor wonders what happened to his 12 days of subscribed training time plus his two or three days of ghost training that is the norm. 10) Teidor posts forum post that player ironically named after an item of English grammar doesn't understand.

This is a different issue, not related to ghost training (though perhaps introduced when they nerfed ghost training).
The scenario is like this: you have 12 days left on a subscription, put a 30-day skill in the queue, log out, and don't log in again before your sub runs out.
What should happen: the 30-day skill should be halfway done when you reactivate your account (12 days of subscription + 3 days grace period).
What actually happens: the 30-day skill will have no training done at all; 0 SP in the skill.
Reports of this bug have been consistent, and CCP is aware of it. GMs do reimburse any lost SP in cases like this.
