I have been probing high sec for a while now and it gets more and more obvious that certain regions are just way better for earning the hard isk then others.
ive always probed in sansha space but unless i'm missing something , i'm shooting myself in the foot..
DISCLAIMER : this is only considering high sec!
Guristas.
- Drop one of the top 3 implants (crystals) - Has upto 4/10 complex's in high sec. - Faction loot is arguably the best since most dread guristas mods fetch a good price. - By FAR the best complex loot (pithi boosters , pithum C-type medium booster , etc)
Serpentis.
- Drop one of the top 3 implants (snakes) - Has upto 4/10 complex's in high sec. - Faction loot (bar a few mods) is pretty bad. - Very bad complex rewards when compared to the others.
Angels
- Drops Halo implants wich arent worth all that much. - No such thing as 4/10 complex's (they simply do not exist) - Faction loot is (on average) bad. - Complex loot is bad aswell.
Sansha
- Drops one of the top 3 implants (slaves) - no such thing as 4/10 complex's - Faction modules arent bad but not good either. - complex loot is somewhat decent , the 3/10's are reasonably profitable.
Blood raider
- Drops crappy implants , arent worth a dime (talisman) - Has upto 4/10 complex's in high sec (hardest of the factions due to heavy neutage) - Faction modules (like sansha) not bad but not good either. - Complex loot is pretty good but still noticably worse then guristas.
Now it doesnt surprise me that caldari once again have the best part of the PvE cake but damn there is absolutely no reason i can find not to probe in caldari space except the harsher competition.
Please tell me i'm wrong and missing something..

The game is off balance in more then one area but maybe better loot compensates for crap ore in that region.
Granted I dont probe much not good at hehe I just use it to kill time when I am bored.

Caldari exploration pays more because the mods/implants are in higher demand - more players. Supply vs Demand.
All those carebears out there doing missions want their Pithi /Gistii shield boosters... so they'll pay top ISK for them.
If the population shifted to Amarr/Minnie with more mission runners flying those ships, then those mods would be higher in value.
Remember of course, that Caldari missile boats are the most versatile when it comes to damage... and Caldari are shield based...

Im not much of a shield tanker so idk bout guristas loot. But i know that blood raiders have some good plexes in hihg sec. the one i like the most is the Mul-Zata monastry(4/10) which gives really nice loot like corpum c-type mods the EANM and Medium Armour rep can fetch really nice prices.

being still a bit new but interested in rat hunting , what does "4/10" complexes mean? Is that the DED lvl or... ?

Yeah, 4/10 is the DED rating. In this case its a complex restricted to battlecruiser hulls or smaller, and its the highest level plex you can find in high security space.

Edited by: Generals4 on 12/08/2010 12:42:22 Well i just noticed on my map there is a DED 5 & 6 deadspace report in a 0.5 sec solar system near me . Am i doing it wrong or is it one of those extremely rare "gems" so to speak?

I don't know where do people get the idea that EVE (or life) should be "fair". ___________ EVE is dying! Now for real! |

The word you're looking for is not "fair" but rather "balanced." Life is not balanced nor fair. A game should be balanced.

A game should be "fair" aka "balanced" to keep it diverse. If it was stated during the intro to the game, that (just for example) Caldari were the unltimate dominant race in the game, almost everybody and their brother would role Caldari so they could be part of the awesomeness. Games are supposed to be balanced so that people can enjoy the game from whatever angle they choose and not be forced into a certain race/part of the game just to be able to compete.
Life on the other hand is not fair, but is in some sense balanced. People have overcome great hardships and become millionaires because they are determined from the time they are a child to do great things. The only thing that limits people in life are the people themselves, and the risks and sacrfices they are willing to make/take.

I've found low-grade Alpha/Beta/Gamma/Delta/Epsilon in high sec in the Vigil complexes which all factions have and you can consider that a 4/10 I guess that end up in low sec in the end. I have also done low sec exploration but gave up on it due to my isk vs time spent was better in high sec. It does get old dealing with pirates and probes all the time to.

its obviously CCP's fault that players love crystal implants.
and its also CCP's fault that players love Dread gurista modules.
And of course its CCP's fault that players love caldari space and caldari ships.
How about world hunger and the economic deppresion? im sure this is CCP's fault too

Depends if the shift towards all those things is due to them being overpowered/unbalanced, or simply a player preference thing.

angel/serp loot is fine, if you can consistantly find the sites. And the 'respawn' deal is utter bull****. They do respawn ina system after dt it seems but usually by the time you ship up for it it's ran already.
I got corelii(um?) c stuff including a 120+m eanm on the first serp vigil I ever found and a dram bpc on the first angel vigil. It went downhill from there.
The prob is the mind numbing process of eliminating wh's in every system and finding a promising site once in awhile.
I could see if someone had literally 4-5 straight hours every day to devote to methodical hisec explor they might do well. If so more power too you and get a life.
You could spend the same time doing lv 4 missions as you do the hours for maybe 1 100+m module if your lucky
btw- the wh's everyone ignores as they scan for sigs is where the real isk's is.
