For those that look at the news on the login page, ISD had reported on the opening of a new bank in Eve apparently endorsed by Chribba.
The bank is called The Bank Of Eve.

As most of you know banks have not had the best success story in Eve, and various forms of banks (investment, savings, etc) launch all the time on the Market Discussion Forum. Most of these are quickly found out to be some sort of scams as which happenned for the bank quoted here.
This brings us back to ISD.
Do they care about the stories they report?
Do they put more than 5 minutes of time into the articles?
Discrepencies:
1. In the news thread they took quotes from the bank founder Blastyoaz666, yet while the time the story was reported the same character was already up for sale on the forums. Blastyoazz666 Sale
2. The news article makes it look likes its endorsed by Chribba, but if you look at the sales launch thread he goes to lengths to state he didn't and was miss quoted by ISD.
The end result of the ISD news feed is that many people have invested in a SCAM bank thinking it had endorsements from people like Chribaa, and they are basically out of pocket.
ISD, how about for once do some checking before you report on things you have no idea whether or not they are legitimate?
How about this for a ISD news feed:
We are sorry and maybe we will check our facts next time.

Reconfirming that indeed I am NOT endorsing nor am affiliated with the bank in question, and that the quotes in the article was not related to the bank itself but a more general view of public services. Which unfortunatly was formulated in such a way that it could be thought as an endorsement for the bank.

I don't see ISD portraying Chribba as supporting it, more like just a name drop.

Doesn't seem like an endorsement to me, more like a statement of the obvious that people need to be able to trust the bank. Now if he went on to say "and I believe The Bank of Eve deserves that trust", then you'd have something to ***** about. But he didn't.

The purpose of the news written by ISD is to report things that are happening in EVE, simply being reported does not mean that ISD or CCP supports or endorses any event that is in those news.
Chribba, if you feel you're misquoted in the article (judging from your post I assume you do) I suggest you contact ISD and ask them to set the record straight.

i offered to report for ISD, sign the whole NDA thing, report all my accounts etc etc.
was told no thanks..
I can see my level of reporting would not have been low enough to their standards.

I'm sorry, but you cant really be that naive. If you, as a representative for ISD and CCP alike, post something that is on the front page of this website, then you are endorsing its service, weather or not you intended to. You would have to state otherwise in your article.
Also, as far as just reporting things going on in New Eden, this is a pretty crappy thing to report anyway.

I believe this is a time that players take a stand on this subject.
I call for CSM representatives to discuss the matter with CCP and decide if the playerbase needs such a service or not.
