PURELY HYPOTHETICALLY, OF COURSE !!!
Assume you have a 15kt version of a MADM (nuclear land mine) with a timer, and you could place it anywhere on (or near) the planet, and set it to go off at any point in time from today to the next, oh, say, 20 years (assume it works as advertised - as in, roughly the same effect as the nuke dropped on Hiroshima).
For the sake of hilarity, a split second before the bomb goes off, a parallel universe is created, the one you're in has the bomb going off, the other one has the bomb as a dud and you have a sudden heart attack and you die.
Where would you set it and what time would you code in ? Or, you can decide to NOT set it.
Feel free to NOT explain your reasoning. In fact, you probably shouldn't explain your reasoning.

I'd set it up anywhere there was a live video feed to one of those digital roadside advertising signs.
A camera would be focused on the bombs button that when pressed, would cause it to explode. A cage would surround that button with a kitten wondering around on the outside of the cage. I would have the ability to lower the cage remotely, thus exposing the bombs button to the random wanderings of the kitten.
I would then wait near the digital roadside sign for a nice looking women to walk/drive by. Once an attractive women is found, the cage would be lowered and in big letters the following caption would present itself: "Show me your boobs or the kitten gets it"
After the top comes off, the cage would go back up and the kitten gets to live to see another day.
Yes, yes I am Dr. Evil.

Can we go back in time? Say to when Oral Roberts said he had to raise several million dollars by some date or God would kill him...
OTOH, setting a nuke off in a dramatic fashion for the end of Mayan Calendar could be entertaining. Unfortunately a 15kt nuke isn't very dramatic.
Got it. The Burning Man to top all Burning Mans.

I'd sell it to the highest bidder, 75% money up front and 25 % when they get the nuke. After making several such arrangements and not honouring them I'd use the money to buy an underground layer that was defended by scantily clad women with machine guns.
The location of the bomb itself is not important as long as it's somewhere suitably evil. The location of the trigger is far more important so I would find the most beautiful of the scantily clad women and hide it inside her lady parts.
The reasoning is simple, if the British government send James Bond after me there's no way he's going to kill the bad guy before he gets the girl.
Why no Mr Bond, it was you who triggered the bomb.

The powerful emissions are absorbed by my dysprosium titanate enriched phallus much like a control rod. It also keeps the neutron swelling to a reasonable level. Can't spilt the poor girl in half right at the moment of fission after all.

High altitude burst over the US/Cananda, positioned such that the resulting EMP would knock both countries back to the stone age. If I had a second one, I would position it over Europe. A third one would be over China and Japan. A fourth would be over Australia/New Zealand. A fifth and sixth one would be over russia. Next targets would be Central/South America, then the Middle East. The last targets would be in Africa where most likely very little would change as a result of an EMP burst. ----------

That's precisely why not It's not about sheer destructive force.
Quote: By the way did the soviets ever , made those operational, can't seem to find a solid answer on that
"Only one bomb of this type was ever built and it was tested in 1961. Originally designed to have a yield of about 100 megatons, yield was reduced to 50 megatons in order to reduce nuclear fallout. This attempt was successful, as it was one of the cleanest hydrogen bombs ever detonated."
