Tell whats the funnest and/or dumbest thing you have done in EVE.
Mine was I was super tired late at night roaming. I jumped into a system then I past out before the system loaded. Woke up about 20 minutes later lucky to still be in the ship. lol

Got killed trying to get to a gate AFTER warp-to-zero was implemented only I didn't know about that.
But here is the worst:
all that "special" loot, stuff I could have auctioned, I thought was junk over the years, and reprocessed it when I just could not sell it.

The funny thing is that most of the nub alts with attitudes play the game all the time and quite enjoy it. But mining or trading or gatecamping is boring so they pass the time here baiting people on the forums. So basically the moar you whinge about them the moar they will poast to annoy you. 
And the stupidest thing? Buying all those capital skillbooks and capships right before Dominion.

I went out ratting in a faction fit drake in deklein and logged in space. When I logged back in - a few days later - my alliance had been booted by TCF and i had to fly the drake back to highsec on my own.
It took 10 days and granted me a "dumbest of the dubms" medal. :)

A few years ago I was making profit sharing payments.
Instead of sending 10 million to the various investors in a profit share, I sent the whole corp wallet of like 100 million I think at the time.
I was very sleepy at the time, since then I usually avoid doing math while sleepy in game.
(I fortunately had good investors who sent the money back :) that they weren't owed :) )

The reason they quoted it was because of the speeling mistake. Of course with a name like Stick Cult one would expect you to not understand that. The fact your corp used vent confirms a high level of e-honor/serious business.

Undocking and leading an RR battleship gang into battle, and then realizing that my Armageddon had 100% shield, 5% armor, and 100% structure. 
The day before I was helping a friend test his ship and repaired my buffer tank two times at station . . . but forgot to do it a THIRD time because it was so late and so I just parked an logged off.
In my own circle of friends in game, I am famous for a particular screw up. It was like "Eternum call the primary?" but I couldn't because I was dead and podding away after only two volleys 
Good times . . .
Upon undocking a wardec was waiting for my fleet outside and I was the FC

Humm ... the dumbest thing has yet to happen in my EVE career.
So far, the runner up is not updating a clone before getting killed again. I was very lucky that happned before I had any noticable amount of SP's, so I didnt loose any.
It could have been a very expensive lesson if that would happen now tho.

Was about to do a 0.0 gate camp in B-vip. Decided it would be a good idea to transfer out of my jump clone that had +5s and 5% hardwirings. I forgot I had already done that the night before. I transferred back into my clone. Thankfully I wasnt podded.

in seven years iv actually done few big ones, lost my alts cnr because a fight kicked off on my main so I was too busy on that to notice a few rats kill the cnr and right click destroy an implant rather than right click plug in, I assumed the pop up warning was the "you cant unplug" warning rather than the "are you sure" one

This happened a long time ago somewhere in highsec.
My alliance was in war at that time. We chased some war targets to a dead-end system and set up a camp on the gate. We were using Ravens with remote reps and as soon as war targets entered the system, RR chain was stared. The "fight" went something like this:
- the first Raven started to warp scramble a war target;
- the second Raven started to warp scramble a war target;
- the third Raven started to warp scramble the gate.
- higsec...
- remote repair chain...
- CONCORD

Your mistake isn't that bad - you wouldn't have lost 25m SP, you woulda lost a lvl off your highest trained skill (maybe a mil or two). Oh, and you shouldn't get podded in lowsec anyway.
After going 18 months without misclicking on the market and buying something for 10 or 100 times more than I thought I was buying it for, I finally made the mistake - twice in a week. Those were some expensive hammerhead II's...

I jumped into a .5 with an active GCC.
I scanned down and attacked a merlin in a belt once, and sat amazed at concord evaporated my rifter...also, a .5

one of many dumb but still fun things ive done in eve, this stands out for me:
on my -9 char, was chasing a juicy hauler i scanned at a pos, caught up to it on a gate, he jumped, me thinking ive got him, jumped through, system loaded, hes still on gate, started locking him, pointed and drones on it, then a small spike, and my ship pops .. 0.6 sec

Destroyed a war target in a mission that dropped significant loot that was too much for me to carry with my ship. Looked for a nearby Iteron V to grab the goods, and didn't pay careful enough attention to the price...
Realized my mistake the moment I hit the Buy button and froze, before facepalming and jumping in my 1 billion isk Iteron V to pick up the wreck.
It is now reassigned as a battle hauler out of contempt.

Traveling in 0.0 looking for plexes in my rigged cheetah with faction probe launcher. In a +4 clone with probing implants.
When you're traveling, it can get pretty boring, and I'd often read articles/wiki pages at the same time. So hit warp, switch OOG to browser, read 2 lines, hit jump, warp, read 3 lines, etc.
I'd forgot to get back to the game, cheetah sitting uncloaked at a gate gets killed and podded by passing hostiles (or sometimes rats)... 6 times in a month...

in 07 i lost a mega filed petition bought a mega cause it took em ages 2 dys later got the mega back sold it through market was tired thought o wow 300 mill they musta typoed sold it looked at wallet what its not much diff then noticed it was 30 mill not 300 mill >_<

I've done that, lost 11 days worth of caldari cruiser 5 because i was too lazy to fly 16 jumps to my mission hub after going to buy skill books.
also lost a gila and half a dozen drakes to mission rats by falling asleep, one reason why i dont mission anymore,but i think the stupidest thing ive ever done was warp an uncloaked rapier with a 50 mil faction web on it to one of the sansha live events and forget to change to my anti lag overview settings. Popped one stealth bomber then lagged out and died in a fire . I have since decided i wont fit faction stuff unless its essential to fit the ship at all.

I once forgot to take a blueprint crate out of a drake I then took on a suicide mission...
Worst thing was the killmails read them all as BPOs so the loss seemed way worse than it was.
Not on my main toon tho, fortunately.

When hurredly slapping together a rifter I spend 750m ISK on 10k units of EMP S. A couple years later I was up extremely late setting up some orders and got a few extra zeros typed in and ended up buying a single Imperial Navy Multifrequency L crystal for 700m ISK...
The first time I raged and quit the game for a couple weeks, the second time I laughed at myself.

well I swore to god I put my pilot back in his fleet issue typhoon before I warped out of AE4 (after salvaging it).
the server logs said no so bye bye bling bling.
Half a bil down the tubes after the salvage.
I wasn't going to post that till I saw "lost Gallente BS5 twice".
That hurts.
Also i just lost a plex card... by redeeming it. lol.

Christmas 2004, I went out of town on vacation and came back to a mail from a research agent informing me I'd "won" a Covert Ops Cloaking Device BPO. The only problem was that by the time I got back in game and spoke the agent, the offer had already expired. Untold billions down the drain...
I guess the one "stupid" thing I can recall doing was accidentally putting up a free contract under the old system and forgetting to specify one of my alts as the recipient. The contract included a cerberus and several valuable modules. I think Cerbs were going for almost 300m back then and that was real ISK. I realized my mistake very quickly, but back then, people had bots that scanned for free contracts and my contract was claimed within seconds.

Was hauling 1.5b worth of sleeper loot out of low sec, on my way to a high sec hub to sell. I was very tired and while in warp to the first high sec gate, I activated autopilot. Yes, very very stupid, but I was tired and completely forgot how much the junk in my viator was worth.
I had planned on logging off before I got too far into high sec, but I fell asleep a few minutes later in my comfy chair. Woke up TWO HOURS LATER, realizing how idiotic it was for me to be autopiloting through high sec with phat lewtz. I jumped back on my laptop, and there was my viator....still on that first high sec gate...I hadn't actually set a waypoint so activating the autopilot did nothing. Just...sitting there in low sec on a gate.
Why, just the other day on the same alt, I was about to head back home from minmatar high sec...and decided I'd just shuttle through Rancer in a +5, 5% hardwiring clone....instead of grabbing one of the plethora of ships in that station with a covert ops cloak and buffer. The idea was to get back home faster, and you know what? I DID, a heck of a lot faster than I had planned...
Not the dumbest things I've done, just the most recent ones I can think of. Of course, the dumbest things I usually do are on purpose and that might not count.

My first time out in 0, I was headed back in and spotted a gate camp. I knew enough to use a safe-spot and d-scanner to check the gate, but I didn't yet know exactly how bubbles worked. I warped to 100 on the gate to check it out. Did not go as planned.

The day the Drone Regions opened, our corp was moving stuff to go colonize it. One of my corpmates asked which 0.0 system we were gonna colonize, and I couldn't remember the name, but I could remember one next to it. So I opened my map, set dest to the one I remember, then examined the map to get the system name for my bud.
The only problem was that I was autopiloting a Freighter full of POS fuel at the time.... Three jumps later I boldly crashed the M-O gate camp with my Freighter. It did not go well.

Bought my first battleship ever, a Megathron. Nice thing about a Megathron was that out of all the ships I could fly it had the largest cargo hold AND could fit missile launchers. So, first thing I did with it was fill it to the brim with mines, go out and sat on a gate at 15km, the warp-in, and started pumping out mines, docked, reloaded, and repeated. Did this a few times so that there were a lot of mines deployed. Figured it would be funny to see someone fly into it and die... well some one did... and I was there watching... thats when I first learned of Concord. This is back WAY back when a BS was still incredibly expensive.
So 3 weeks later I finally get the money together to buy and fit a second one. This time I knew about Concord and was not going to lose it to stupidity. Part of my plan to not losing it was to test both its tank and dps. First up was the dps. Got a corp mate to undock and started shooting him. Someone else undocked beside him. I was shooting torps. Learned what splash damage was and died to Concord again.
Edit: Clarified it was splash damage and not miss-targeting. |

Jumped my jump freighter to an alliance pos a day after i'd left the alliance. bye bye anshar.
My mate undocked and alt tabbed in lowsec, remembered 20 mins later only to realise he'd just lost his high grade crystals.
Same mate went afk in a safespot for a quick snack. came back only to watch his pod being scrammed and then losing his high grade crystals again. about three months apart. |

Bought a few thousand cruise missiles once on the market for around 150 mil or something. Was really tired and fell for one of the extra 0 in the price scams. Ended up just clicking away without looking close enough. I didn't realize it until hours later when I checked my journal wondering where the ISK went.
Prior to that I always said that nobody would ever fall for that stuff. ;)

Don't feel so bad. ;) Years ago there were a bunch of war targets running around Jita while we (Our corp was either ASCN or Knights of the Southern cross at the time) were in Empire picking up supplies. Can't remember if it was a Goon or a member of a Red Alliance corp...
Anyhow, we had an individual named Caldari Cylon in our gang. Out of the blue one of the war targets gets popped and we couldn't figure out why. Turns out they didn't have warnings on or something and shot the Caldari Navy station when trying to shoot the guy named Caldari Cylon.
They lost a faction battleship for it too. ;)

Back when I was in Dread-Wings, I dozed off during a lowsec PvP frigate roam while we were in warp...woke up in warp (missed whole engagment) in a pod running away and couldn't figure out how I got popped in warp.

I was roaming lowsec in my 3 day old rifter alt. I'd been on a winning streak with two highly improbable kills when I noticed 2 hulks on scan. I found their belt within a few seconds and warped to it, 30km away. They seemed oblivious to me, so I timed my lock to coincide with my arrival within scram range to avoid unduly alerting them. I was in a hurry to activate the scam so I clicked through all the warnings (hadn't bothered to turn them off yet with it being a new character), and got concorded with the hulk in low shield. I was really surprised to the point that I was about to start raging in local about exploits before I noticed I had wandered into a .5 system.

Sleepy and slightly drunk miss-typed a buy order, for about 12b. Yeah thats only about 40 PLEXes. Sometimes even misplaced decimal separators can give you so much, us poor overworked traders...
Financially it was a bit of dip on the income graph, didnt really matter in the long run and, well no emotional damage either cause I consoled myself with a faction mod buying spree over the next few days.

Left the game several months after launch and had acquired tens of thousands of harvester mining drones before they nerfed them from ever dropping again. I had sold the largest portion of them for 25-50k each and gave away the rest when I left. Came back several years later to see them selling for 15m a piece.

2 very old stories:
I was travelling in an Apoc with smartbombs. I activated the warp drive and switched to the browser, still seeing the mods and overview. After i saw that i was on the next gate i randomly clicked on the UI .. and clicked the Smartbomb. Goodbye Apoc.
(It was back in the days when you still could smartbomb at gates on 0)
We were in a war and planned a trap, so we were hiding in an other guys Mission. It was a hell of boring so i asked if we cannot do anything else. FC joked around and said "shoot the wrecks if you are bored and wanna shoot something", which i did followed by an "oh ****" shout after i pressed F1. Goodbye Apoc

I setup a trap in 0.0. Heavy interdictor and an AoE DD Titan. It was my first own DD so i was pretty nervous. Hostile fleet were T1 cruisers and some T2. They jumped in their Stabbers and started to shoot me, i decloaked and fired the DD. I killed the Stabbers, but got tackled by a curse a HIC and some other stuff afterwards. I had a set of HG Crystals in my head ... well, it was also the last AoE DD fired, so i tried to tell me that it was worth the 1.7b isk.

One of my first experiences in 0.0
I had just moved from Empire to the depths of hell. The only ship I had out there was a megathron. I went ratting and in the 2nd or 3rd belt I hit a hauler spawn with 50m trit (yay).
No haulers on the market, but there were lots of cargo expanders available.
Hostiles arrived in system, with an amazing ability to quickly find ratters in belts.
You can guess the rest.
On a side note, the only thing the hostiles said in local was, "This pilot should not be allowed to fly a mega EVER again", and they posted the KM link.
Ahhh.. the good ole' days.

Left a rohk, buffer typhoon and a tempest in a c5 hole over Christmas. The pos was offlined and all facilities popped. Luckilly I was in my cheetah and could lead the ragtag fleet out again. We lost a carrier also and a hulk in the process. We petitioned ccp as the tower notifications never were received by any Corp member until we got back to empire (cue storm of eve mails arriving) though never got anything back for it.
Slow boated my first tempest 20 jumps before warp to zero, left it at a big gate camp on autopilot.
Took 6 months off in null security space and found our alliance had folded. 50 ish jumps to get home, got popped about 8 out.

In fact, it was actually a rather ingenius ploy I had devised. Putting all your eggs in one basket is a bad thing, I said to myself; so instead of putting my money in one bank, I put half my money each in two banks. I figured that if one of them went sour, I would still not have lost everything.
Which of course helped a whole lot when both banks independently went sour within the span of a single month 
Admittedly though, I did not lose that much, because I did receive (and withdraw) a fair amount of interest while it was still good. Still a loss, but not enough to emorage about

Giving away 95% of my ISK and selling off my assets after what I believed quitting EVE for good.
That was the third break I took and was completely burnt out.
Yet here I am, 10 months later, back and stronger than ever - just a little less wealthy than before...

Was in a mishion running maelstrom in low sec, traveling back to my home system. I get chased through the gate by a drake. He puts a point and a web on me and starts firing. I don't have a point to throw at him, so I slowboat back to gate without firing back at him, thinking that my tank can take it.
I do indeed reach the gate as my cap begun to drain, I jump through and then, in haste, off to a diferent gate that lead to 0.6 system, thats where I messed up, I clicked the wrong gate, one that leads into 0.0....
I realized my mistake as soon as find my self in the 0.0 system, a camp there with about 30 frigs
I lol and start to slowboat to the gate again, 30 frigs firing on my maestrom....
I manage to reach it just in time, jump through and everything turned out better than expected actualy, still own that mael

One time I was missioning, it was a long time ago. My tanking skills weren't the best, however, I could do the mission if I killed the enemies fast enough. I was in a Drake. Anyway, it later came to my attention when I went to reload, that I had no ammo in my cargo bay. It was a slow death.
I used to do level 5 missions back when you could get them in high-sec. I stopped doing them long before they made them low-sec only. (Shooting a NPC carrier for 2 hours sucked, mind you I had bad skills.)
So anyway, we get this mission 30 jumps away, or, 4 jumps away if we go through low-sec. So we go through low-sec, do the mission and that's enough missions for today. I decide to return to my level 4 agent 20 odd jumps away. I hit auto pilot and walk away.
Later, I come back, my Drake is still not home. Then I notice a blinky red on the upcoming gate. I'm like wtf, and I check the system; 0.4, oh boy. I had forgotten to set my autopilot to 0.5 to 1.0 only. It's a Deimos, and I'm a little worried as to what's going to happen, at the time I had never actually engaged in pvp. He didn't engage me, perhaps he thought he'd lose. He probably wouldn't have been able to break my tank as it was passive fit for tanking level 5's, but still, he scared the hell out of me. I jumped through the next gate (He followed) and I warped off ASAP, manual until I got out of low-sec.
So, after doing missions for two years my income slowly got into the billions... Eventually I bought a full set of +5's. Then one day I had some stuff I needed to pick up at Jita. Flew there in my Crow. I autopilot there and just two jumps from Jita a friend comes over and starts talking with me. So I minimize EVE, and strangely enough we got on the topic of EVE. I exclaimed to him how awesome of a game it was. We talked for maybe 10-15 minutes, then he left. I brought EVE back up and I was in my pod in station. I learned then and there that if you're going to Jita, you better dock up ASAP, or bring a ship that's immune (Well, you know, hard) to suicide gank.
Patience is something you gotta have when playing EVE sometimes, and sometimes I don't have the patience for patience. After I moved out to 0.0 there were many things I didn't have and as I'm not a carrier pilot, and don't have cyno alts, I can't simply jump to high sec load up and jump down. So, one time there was something I wanted to pick up at Jita and bring down that would fit in my Crow's cargo hold.
I've done this before and the whooping 54 jumps there and then 54 back isn't fun, but if it's something that makes a difference in whatever I plan to do, I'll want that item before I do it. I set out on the journey. Most of 0.0 if through blue space and it's relatively safe. Then there are about 10 low-sec jumps, and 20 odd high-sec jumps.
Two jumps from high-sec I enter a system with three pirates in it. Nothing on the in gate, so the out gate is probably camped, but seeing as I'm in a Crow, they'll never get me, I'm too fast! I'll warp to 0m, jump and I'm gone, they can't possibly lock me fast enough to do anything.
I warp to the gate at 0 revealing there's a Rokh, Harby, and Drake. I come out of warp and the Rokh activates his smartbombs.
First smartbomb - There goes my Crow
Second smartbomb - There goes my Pod
200mil of implants and a Crow down the drain. Ah well, I laughed it off and waited for the available carrier pilot for the stuff I wanted from Jita.
Edit; TL;DR: I've had my fair share of misfortunes, and so far, I've managed to laugh them all off.

Spent 3 Bil on a Legion and Mods, was quite happy and for some reason forgot about my sec status... jumped into a 1.0 system and then seen the warning message appear on screen, apparently I was a naughty boy and the police were going to remove me from my ship.
Was struggling to warp to a planet due to shaking like a ****ting dog... anyhoo managed to get out and then get back to the gate a 0km... FECK oops I'd warped to the gate at 15km!!! Hit the AB and set the tank running! Got out with 15% armour.
Vent was quite comical "Hmmm think I might have dropped a bol lock here chaps!" :)

After a long break from EVE logged into my character and set autopilot across highsec forgetting that he has negative security status. Came back saw he is in pod, bought new ship, rinse and repeat. In the end I lost about 4 ships before deciding to run a few missions.

Not the stupidest, but most recent (two days ago):
Few corpmates and I were testing ships on each other. Just the standard "ok, stop once my tank gets low" type of thing. We worked from BS down to frigs, and it was my Taranis against his Daredevil. I went in knowing that I was probably going to lose.
My fail: I forgot the DD was a shield tanker, and popped him near instantly once he hit armor.
His fail: Using Void ammo, not realizing that it's tracking was awful. He's new to hybrids, and was wondering why he couldn't hit me, when he was doing 1700m/s, and I was barely pushing 40m/s.
Lesson learned for both of us, I guess.
