The only thing that anybody ever explained to me about faction warfare is that you will be the enemy of the other side and you should take cheap ships in to do it. So i will get to the point. when you join up where do you go Who gives you the missions? Who are your opponents? Who are you allies? I certainly don't want to be the only little frigate against numerous enemies. Well that would be really cool and klingon like. what ship should i use as an 11 million skill point character (amarr minmitar)... i could go on but i cant think of any more questions. i'm sure i'll get there. Basicly oncei inlist how does it work and what are the rewards (do i get the cool titles?)

 1. Move to your faction's hi-sec basing point. For Gallente it's Villore, for Caldari it's Nourvakaiken. I don't know the other two.
 2. Look at a map. Find your base, find the enemy faction's base. Find the different routes between the two.
 3. Fit up Rifters. Lots of them.
 4. Roam around these paths between you and the enemy faction's base.
 5. Shoot every orange thing you see.
 6. Die a lot.
 7. Get noticed by a corp and get recruited.
 8. ?????
 9. Profit!

 Faction War:

 - You need standings of .5 or higher with the particular faction you wish to join. If this requirement is met, simply go to any station belonging to that faction and enlist. Be aware though; if you are already in a corp and you enlist, you will leave that corp and be put into the NPC militia corp.

 - When you join a few things will happen:

-- Once you are enlisted a new chat channel named "Militia" will open. This is your means of knowing where the enemy roughly is and to get picked up for general militia fleets (simply type an "X" into it). However, take this channel with a grain of salt. It is rife with alt spies from the opposing militias and pirates. With that in mind... NEVER post info about friendly fleets in Militia chat. EVER.

-- You will now be officially at "war" with your faction's nemesis and their ally (ex: you join Amarr Militia and you will be at war with the Minmitar Republic and the Gallente Federation). Anyone belonging to either militia can be shot on sight regardless of location.

-- You will no longer be able to enter the high-sec space of the enemy faction(s) without being attacked by the respective NPC navy. Think CONCORD, but they do not scram you and are MUCH, MUCH weaker (tankable even).

-- Due to the nature of high-sec for each opposing side, most of the PvP in militia is done in the low-sec between the two factions.

Now... that's the info part of FW. Here are some tips on how to survive and "succeed" in FW:

 - Modify you overview so being in militia takes precedence over being GCC, Outlaw, etc. The reason for this is that quite a few people will be both pirates ( <-5.0 security status ) as well as members of militia. Shooting them WILL damage your faction standings and **** off everyone else in militia... sometimes to the point where they will shoot YOU.

 - Get a steady source of income going. Doesn't matter how you do it, but it is important to get it. Run missions in your faction's high-sec (it's generally safe enough, but keep an eye on local just in case), scam, trade, run FW missions (if you have the smarts and balls that is), anything. Why do you need this income? Because you WILL lose A LOT of ships.

 - Familiarize yourself with the general PvP areas and staging points. A good trick to learning the location of each staging point is to pay attention to where you militia rallies up most often and the system(s) your militia tries to avoid like the plague. It also doesn't hurt to ask either. It's not like they're big secrets or anything.

 - Learn who the "usuals" are during the times that you play. Get to know them, get them to know you. After awhile you will know what to fly and when because you know the other guys are doing the same. It's camaraderie at its best.

In high sec in the enemy territory, then you can shoot or get shot by the orange ones and concord will stay out of it right? Otherwise just make isk then go to low sec between empires and start shooting? Also I need a little more explanation on how to make orange players priority over the red players so i don't shoot the wrong ones. How do I find the high sec station that every one gathers. Maybe i use the militia chat (duh). Okay thank you for the advise.

The Navy scales in terms of effetiveness. The closer the systen is to 1.0, the tougher it is to tank the DPS.

It's a lot easier to tank the navy in a 0.5 system than a 1.0 system

 1. Spam militia with SPR Drake fits.

 2. Accuse everybody else of being a spy

 3. Talk about your (fictional) great director main that is in a HUGE 0.0 alliance

Why shoot the other team when you can grief an entire faction with just keystrokes.

It's not griefing. It's legal tactics, legal mechanics. It's been told from day 0 that when your in high-sec and in fw militia your not safe, your enemies can visit you there. So stop whinning and adapt. Just don't use a tankless ship when your in high-sec. Use a ready combat ship instead.

Theoreticly then you could visit a 0.5 enemy system, cloak, scan out a mission runner and if hes faction shoot him. hopefully get away before the navy gets you but concord will not show up right? On the other end of that what are the faction missions like and are you doing them in low sec areas where everybody is scanning for you to gank you? come to think of it how do you even find the faction missions?

Well... you can't actually cloak in enemy high-sec (something about cloaking jammers or some other BS). However, yes, you can run into high-sec and gank people running their missions without CONCORD ever blinking an eye (the NPC navy will still come after you). All you need is someone who is not in militia to scan down the "victim" and be a warp-in point for you and some buddies.

For faction missions... you can only get those from the NPC militia corps. Tribal Liberation Force for Minmitar, 24th Imperial Crusade for Amarr and I'm not sure about the other two (you can always ask).
These missions will ALWAYS be in low-sec and usually be something along the lines of "blow this one guy/structure up." Simple enough right? Nope. There's a catch-22 with these missions: upon warping to the mission site a system-wide beacon will activate allowing anyone to warp into your missions area whenever they want.
