Quote: Greetings, I'm sending you this mail to notify you that in order to fund our ongoing operations we have flagged your moon at System Planet # - Moon # to be taken. We're looking at three options here, a 1Billion isk ransom* for you being able to keep the tower, make arrangments to remove said tower within three days, or it's immenent destruction. Whilst I understand that you probably aren't amazed at the prospect of having to make this decision, I urge you to bear in mind that this is the nature of holding prosperous resources in this game and it's merely a matter of business. Please contact me as soon as possible in order to discuss where we go from here, I hope we can come to an amicable resolution. Have a Nice Day. Sincerely Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx Contact Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxxx * We reserve the right to re-ransom ur tower if nessecary no sooner than 2 weeks from this letter. WWYD (What would you do?) 1. Pay the ransom? Is a R16 low sec moon worth one billion ISK? 2. Concede to the awesome power of the aggressive entity and withdraw? 3. Prepare for "imminent destruction" and call up all your friends for a cap fight?
seany1212 Stylo Corporation	Posted - 2010.08.15 21:44:00 - [2] Depends on a number of things, firstly what size is it? if its small or medium then it hardly seems worth it, but if its a large tower, then it would be worth defending, secondly how many numbers the corp/alliance has against yours, if they outnumber you 10:1 then even if you did put up a fight you'll be outmanned and gunned at some point. If its a large tower and there numbers are around your own then turn that tower into a neuting death star and knuckle down for a cap fight. You guys make squeeky noises when you pop, and that's enough motivation as far as I'm concerned.

We once were threatened that way and simply did nothing - the towers had paid for themselves long ago and we regarded them as "lost" the moment we put them put. In fact I convoed the CEO of the sender and asked WTF they were thinking, and it turned out he did not have any idea what was going on. Oh, and I also upped the ransom demand. "Your guy was demanding 500M from us" when he only asked for 300M. Might as well sow some dissention if it was a REAL threat I'd simply remove all interesting modules and wait. If the tower gets attacked, you did not lose much, if not... well, post the name of the scammer here

I guess I missed the part in this thread where Cry Havoc was the ones threatening the tower. In that case I seriously doubt a merc corp is going to bother them much. They probably already get war decked every week by privateers or orphanage or the like just like we do. Another war dec against a 0.0 based alliance is probably not going to bother them a whole lot.
Somerled MacDhommal Gallente	Posted - 2010.08.19 17:51:00 - [30] Unanchor all your non combat related modules. Add a ton more weapons, jammers, scrams, etc. Don't forget ammo. Make sure you fully fuel your pos. Add strong long enough to make it an annoying amount of time. Don't go 24 or 48 hours, they will simply come back then. Make it an odd time, like 36 hours so that the pos will come out of reenforced when they are likely asleep or in middle school.
