I am trying to set my overview for seeing probes in overview.
In short: I fail - impossible to set it this way to me.
Instead if using directional scanner, I can disable overview settigns and will see probes in directional scanner.
Am I doing somethign wrong or can you set your overview settgns in a way that you can see probes in overview and in directional scanner with a current overview setting?

No, you cannot set your overview to show probes in any way.
Hence, the only way to show probes in the directional scanner is to disable the overview checkbox.
Yes, this is really annoying.

Probes can't be added to the overview trough the game itself, instead you have to export your overview settings and alter the exported file adding the probe ids. Save the file and import it. Although I'm not entirely sure if it's allowed.
The probe ids:

I have tested that method before and it does work. I disabled it as there was no use to it. You cannot do anything with somebody else's probes, you cant target them, you cant shoot them, you cant scoop them and you cant recover them.
Other than seeing whether they exist in your grid, what use is it?

I read a CCP post that said it was allowed. It's pretty useless tough. Only your directional scanner will warn you that you are being probed down (uncheck the use active overview settings or you won't see probes). Sol: A microwarp drive? In a battleship? Are you insane? Edited by: Jovan Geldon on 17/08/2010 01:43:33 My entire corp submitted petitions to clear this up and we got confirmation from a senior GM that it is NOT an exploit. It isn't particularly useful though, since as has been mentioned you can't do anything to probes if they're not yours; true, you can check "Use active overview settings" and then you'd only see probes on D-scan, but frankly it's just lazy when all you have to do is pay attention when you're browsing the D-scan list.
