It's like this: the cargo scanner scans 2 layers deep. First layer is the cargo hold (duh), second layer is any container inside that cargo hold. A courier package is one container. So if you courier (in one contract) 1 GSC with stuff in it, plus 2 Afterburner Is, the scan will show 1 GSC and 2 AB Is.

Ok so what if you put some extra random worthless gear next to the GSC (not in it) and put that with the GSC in a contract?

It would show the GSC + the gear ... giving the idea its just a regular GSC that is actually filled :)
