Got a few basic BPOs (Nanite Paste, Small warp scramblers, etc) and was thinking about getting into the BPC market (copying BPCs and selling them on the market)... but before I invest all the weeks in lab waiting ques, I'm curious to if anyone has advice to whether its worth it or not. I'm mainly looking for low-maintence, low-intensity sales to augment my income.
Anyone think that its worth getting into? Thanks |

It's pretty slow going, even if you find low-sec stations with relatively low wait times. You'd have a lot better experience getting into a corp that will let you use their POS slots for research and copying.
That being said, it's easy to flood the market as *most* BPC's don't sell in very large numbers, so you will need to branch out with a lot of different researched originals to copy from to keep your income steady.
I think it's a good side-project as it's nearly passive income, but you will probably still want your main source of income to come from missions or wormholes or something else with more immediate gains. |

I would say yes for ship bpc atleast.
I used to invent mini T2 hulls and would go through 60 max run bpcs per day, for me it was much easier to buy those in than purchase the bpos and run copies myself.

I've found it's not really worth it. The hassle of creating single contracts, to sell something for <1mill - 2/3 mill just isn't worth the time. Too many clicks for too little isk. And with only 14 days on a contract, good chance it will expire. |

And with only 14 days on a contract, good chance it will expire. I've kind of found it the same. Sales via contracts are erratic. And it's always hard to evaluate a good sell price, since a direct comparison to your BPC is rare. (Other BPCs have different ML or PL values, or being sold in sampler packs of many types of BPCs). But I still do it, because I have access to a POS for quicker copying, and because it's virtually free income. |

BPC's are only worth it if they are for T2 or faction ships/mods. T1 BPC's are often not worth it as it is relatively easy for people to get a hold of the BPO's for them therefore they have no need to buy BPC's from other people. This means low demand and many people do it because it is easy so there is also lots of competition from other people. Buying and selling through contracts can be extremely confusing and it is very easy to get ripped off through contracts if you do not pay attention to what is going on. Also quite hard to get a fix on a reasonable price. Also with contracts there is no regional barrier like the market so everyone has full visibility of all BPC's for sale everywhere.
Stick with physical Modules and Ships, don't bother with the BPC's my advice. |

You're better off doing ME research on battlecruicers and selling them though contracts then selling bpcs. when you consider you'll be waiting 20 days to start a 30 day ME research job compared to 12-15 days for a 1 day bpc job.
Selling bpc's would only be useful if you owned a pos, otherwise depending on highsec stations is just not worth the time. |

I'm avoiding the BPC market like the plague. At least until I get BPO's that are researched enough for people to actually want them (which will probably be never since someone else older than me will always be getting their better as well). I suppose I could try invention and get those BPC's, but... I don't think i'll bother for a long time, if at all.
Could be good though... if you can figure out which BPC's are in the highest demand and sell the best. :o - Rei |

If you did copies it would only be worthwhile if you found an inventer to buy bulk copies on a weekly/monthly basis. |
