intro...
Since the "search" function on this site is so fail that the only things it would find were threads for the days of old on the 'test server feedback' forum, i turn to you...the current players, for help. And ask CCP, the do you even have the search function if it doesn't really help? (or have not made it better)
Topic
Okay, so i keep looking at all these mods that effect the "Agility Bonus" and "Inertia Modifier" and they all seem to effect the "Inertia Modifier" stat on the ship. I ask, what is the actual difference between these two types of mods? If i have 2 mods that do "agility", and 2 that do "inertia", do they diminish each other? (since the diminishing returns is based on the ship stat that is effected)
I am a well educated adult, but having these two different, but seemingly not, items is confusing me.

I fly around now for a few years. And that question never came to me. Isn't there enough other stuff to worry about?
I also googled, and the discussion one finds is entertaining. I asumed they where the same.
I just know fitting these, will help me faster to turn (align) for warp.

If you want to use the Search function on the forums, see EVE Search.
Every ship has an Inertia Modifier. Within each ship class, the lower the Inertia Modifier the more maneuverable the ship is. The Agility Bonus from certain modules and skills is applied to the Inertia Modifier. There is no difference between the modules, and they are stacking penalized against each other because they all affect the same ship attribute -- when the module description says they have a stacking penalty, that is. Some modules don't. ---------- I am a criminal, doing dirty deeds dirt cheap. If you have passed your trials and want to pursue a criminal career, I run a corp that you should look into joining. |

From memory, there was once a time when Inertial Stabilizers would affect the ship's agility while nanofiber would affect the ship's mass. It was possible to stack these modules to make ships go much faster than CCP wanted, and so the great nano-nerf occurred. The nano-nerf involved making inertial stabilizers and nanofibers modify the same attribute, thus they would be stacking-nerfed.
I might be wrong since my memory is vague and I am too lazy to go look things up. That, and my workmates are hanging around waiting for me to join them for coffee.
But I'm pretty sure you'll find an answer to your question if you ask around about the nano-nerf.
