CCP please it's time to do something with secure can plague. Secure cans close to any object up to 10 000 km should decay at next DT no matter if they are anchored or not.
Look how now belts looks in empire.

Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't you ALWAYS been able to anchor in .7 and below?
I see nothing wrong here as it's intended and let me tell you if I had a can here and it was destroyed at downtime I would surely ***** and hold you responsible..
Now, that being said, the ones ABOVE .7 sec status; yes those should go as they were an exploit getting them there in the first places as I've been told..

or miners who want to avoid ore thieves.... honestly, if they don't use cans and they lose their ore its their fault. And if they do use cans then their ruining the scenery

Should just make a weekly rental based on the security rating of the system
I know I have can stuck all over the universe that I wont ever return to. If there was a way I could just remove them I would
All opinions, rambling or not, expressed here are my own and not that of my corp or alliance |

They should just make tainers pop if they arent used after a sertain amount of time...

It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

good idea but i think the system is fine the way it is. when i jump into a belt full of cans, it causes maybe half a second of lag. nothing to worry about. just stop whining about it and either find another belt or deal with it. ---
Was it good for you? |

It's not so bad in a belt. My main problem is with all the spam/advert ones in 1.0/0.9 systems. They shouldn't even be there anyway, they're all abandoned, and they're very annoying to see everytime when undocking/passing through. Not to mention what newbies think when they undock from their newbie stations and see a load of recruitment cans promising great futures, free ships and easy money right outside their station...
It'd be nice if after 2 months of no use or something, they'd unanchor and then pop eventually.

I agree with the original poster, cans _has_ to decay or you have to have 'parking tickets' these should be incremental, something like: system-sec-rating x days anchored / rating-towards-system-faction x some insane large factor
would work
also 'hacking'->stealing cans should be possible
even the paranoid has real enemies...

I'm not talking about exploit or possibility. If you look at my picture with all these cans EVE looks so ugly. Advertising around gates getting my nerves too. Why billboards still have space for rent text and CCP didn't implement rental service for legal advertisement. Secure cans anchored in space ruin EVE scenery and of course generating load for database.
I think EVE looks better before secure cans were added to game. At least DEVs can prevent existence of cans in visible range from any objects. It will prevent client from loading data about these cans. I doubt that a lot of cans make load time longer after jumping thru gate or to belt.
It's like pollution and no one like polluted neighborhood.
