5 is good. I can tell the difference between a patrol and a PvP fleet by the request for ship type and if they pay any attention to optimals.
Everything else you suggested says you are miserable in EvE and tired of losing faster than you replace in one sided battles with one trick pony ships. I leave for 3 or 4 months when I find myself getting like that. |

Should also add:
Never be an alliance pet/renter. Never join a corporation.
The game itself is great. It's the people in it who suck.

Heh, I always try to jump in first. You can time de cloaking anyway. Also, Jump lag makes it so everyone appears on the other side on complete random timers.

- Do not take on any leadership roles whatsoever.
- Fly small, relatively cheap ships.
- When in fleet jump thru the gate last.
- Decloak after everyone else does.
- Fly ships that let you shoot at range.
- Cloaking is good.
- Run away instead of taking one for the team.
- Always align to some celestial object.
- Get at least one shot off on every target so you get on the killboard a lot.
- Turn down the volume to zero on voice comms when the important stuff is being relayed in fleet chat.
Finally, a voice of reason! This is exactly what I do when I am in a pvp situation and I encourage everyone else to do the same.
I'd LOVE to see your gang waiting on the side of the gate telling each other:"you first! no you first! no I'm not going, you go!"

Lets's say peopel actually do this, it wil result in:
- everyone being cloaked all the time - everyone staying in the same system forever - cruisers and bigger can be removed from the game

This may be one of the very best threads that i have seen in this game and completely true.
1. Is completely right for me. im stuck as a CEO and i hate it 2. only fly BCs and nothing else in battle. The recons always take one for the team

Edited by: Malevian on 27/08/2010 17:00:02 What prompted me to post at all was my joining the recruitment channel and seeing a barrage of crappy corps recruiting. I felt sad for them. Most likely the majority thinking it will be great fun to lead a new corp only to find out that instead your playing time has turned into a job where you do a bunch of work so others can have fun. Hence rule number 1. Goes for directors, POS fuelers etc too.
The rest is obviously specifically related to pvp fleet roams.
Small is good because it's harder to target you, especially when you're moving fast and not in a straight line towards or away the targeters. Flying fast is fun too in it's own right. You can get to the wrecks first and grab loot. You can GTFO if all goes bad. Cheap and small are relative - for example an Arazu may fit that definition for many. I like them - cheap because hey I don't lose them often and can afford too anyway regardless. Why? cloak, shoot at range, shield tanked instead of armor tanked so nimble, ecm drones ftw, etc.
Jumping through last helps now and then. This is especially true for somewhat equal fights or when the stupid FC leeroys everyone in despite the odds of coming out on top not being so good. Listen for the tell tale - "Disengage! Head back to the gate!" Then you'll be glad you didn't jump into that mess. Oh that's right I remember now that not following that rule a few months ago was the main reason that I last lost an Arazu once...
I haven't done #9 yet but just came up with it thinking perhaps I should next time.
#10 is key for sanity. I hate listening voice comm blabber and pompous FCs. 95% can be figured out by reading fleet chat and watching what the others do. If you're needed to do something specific they'll just bark at you in fleet chat eventually then you can just say oh hai I'm back now sorry I was taking a dump or something...
