For others to see your sell orders from a distance you need the Visibility skill. Visibility level 3 gives you a range of 10 systems, level 4 a range of 20 systems, which is usually enough to cover the whole region.
Prerequisites for Visibility are: Trade level 2 Marketing level 2 Procurement level 4

That's only for remote sell orders... regular sell orders still work the old way.

I don't think that is how visibility works, not actually sure what it does.
How do I know it doesn't work this way well I have no visibility skill but when I browse the market I can see all the orders I set up remotely.
The description seems to suggest that if you have visibility people can buy the product and get it even if they are not at the station where the goods are held. Not sure if that is right will have to do some testing.

Visibility is useless, unless you consider a bright green bar covering the item listing in the market history useful when selling. I havent encountered a situation yet where i could aquire an item outside of the station where it was offered. Buying on the other hand seems to work with visibility, going off of the best price within the range, if there isnt another buy order at the station that the player is attempting to quick sell at.

So, could we please have confirmation that you can put sell orders up the old way (pre exodus), from the station your docked at (no remote) and that the whole region sees them ?
Thanks :)

Consider it confirmed.
I have an alt to handle my frigate sales, she has only the trade and retail skills no visibility skill. My main (Sable) can see those sell orders across the whole region. ----- Sable's Ammo Shop at Alentene 5, Moon 4, Duvolle Laboratories Factory. Ammo at affordable prices. |

If you place a sell order while in the station where the item is , it is seen throughout region just like pre-exodus.
If you are in a station in Nonni and place a sell order for an item you have in say Torrinos , then the visibility skill affects the range that order is seen.
Visibility is good if you have factories in a few different systems and wish not to travel back and forth all the time.
Your Mega Afocal Pulse Maser I perfectly strikes Asteroid (Veldspar) [R0ME], wrecking for 798.3 damage.
Your 425mm Railgun I perfectly strikes Guardian Captain, wrecking for 685.9 damage.

Those trade skills are sad at least, they improve your trading abilities by maybe a 5%. I trade the elite way, buy goods at station A and sell them at a higher price in station B, and i ignore those crappy tradeskills.
I prefer the older description of the trade skill, it used to give you a % of Isk over your sold goods, to npc corps at least, they sadly changed it completely in exodus. The way they added a couple crappy fees in selling/buying goods to make their new crapeskills have some use is one of the ****tiest things i`ve ever seen in a computer game.

Just to be fair, at least CCP has made easier to speculate with trade goods in exodus, prices have more sense now in the market so you can make profit.

I'm guessing this is how it works? Since he's a authority on this. --

What you describe isn't trading, its hauling. Trading involves orders.

Think it's main function might be in the general list price. I've often found now that first offer on the general web page, might not be the best price. I could of course have been doing something wrong on my side, but I don't believe so. ----
