haha I live in SW VA, Roanoke to be exact
Its like being on the edge of empire. 1 or 2 jumps from 1.0 (the city I live in is seriously just shy of being a serious 'police state'). 1 or 2 jumps from sketchy lowsec where there may be someone flying around trying to jump people, but is a noob and gets popped over and over...
Like you know if you leave your neighborhood and turn left, in 5 minutes you will be in downtown, but if you turn right, in 5 minutes you will be surrounded by cow fields and mountains and some ****** backward ass rednecks who act redneck cause they think the are supposed to because of where they live

Up here in Oregon its like .5...Not a lot of violence though, just people stealing things. Cops are generally too "busy" to deal with most of it. Violence and large amounts of drugs generally get their attention though.
Car break ins are the most common crime reported. Its kind of like can flipping...

npc nullsec right next to some highsec... maybe PF-... i dunno, a "gatecamp" about 5 mins from where i work meant that had to find a "wormhole" to get to work today.
last week some dude threatened to "bomb the station" a couple blocks from my apartment.
no sov, no concord, eleventy people moving through and a whole lot of random gunfire.

Dunno chief, depends where you are. The Highlands is definitely nullsec. Glasgow on the other hand is weird, you can be in a nice 0.9 area, turn a corner and you're in an 0.3 easy. Plus even in the nice areas, there's always some wee radge who wants to bam you up. I guess you're never safe, even in high-sec...

Wichita, KS - A lot like Eve. There's a chunk in the center with brick roads and shiny skysc****rs where the carebear cops hang out. Every once in awhile, they get all uppity about dispensing justice to the masses, and form blobs to invade low sec. Whenever the people who live in low sec form a blob, the cops warp off, and hide in the station.
edit: Remember kids, you can't have skysc****rs without ****.

Tanzania reporting 0.0: With some ISK you get away with absolutely anything.
And the Rwandan border here is probably true sec -0.75, as the various officer spawns frequently try to take your ISK. They've never dropped good loot, though, so I'm not sure about that true sec rating.

Eastern Ontario/Southern Quebec - 0.5 - 0.8
Relations between Gallente to the north and Caldari to the south have been rocky at times. Organizations within the Gallente state of Quebec feel they should absolve themselves from the treaty. Although not popular amongst the Gallente and Caldari Canadians, this issue is constantly talked about in Federal elections.
The Matari Nation also holds a political stronghold within the area as well however their opinions tend to be negative towards the union and at times will form blockades along many of the outlying trade routes as a form of protest.
Pirate factions are also somewhat of a problem in these areas where the main staple of the black market is illigal drugs. Everything from Clash to contraband tobacco is being hauled up from southern governments and out west from the British Columbia star cluster.

Dunno where abouts in scotland you are... but Glasgow is definetly a 0.4 between Rens and Jita... full of children who will stabb at for the sake of it and see what falls out
