I remember way back in '05 when I started, there was a way to change the font that EVE used - live was great and I could read the text in the UI.
Alas, they changed that, and since my eyes have done much bleeding :-(

Even if CCP is creating their own font, don't expect too much from it. The problem here isn't the font, it's the windows themselves. Well the font could do with better 0, 6, 8 and so on.
But the biggest problem is:
To have room with a larger font, you have to make all windows, buttons, bars, tabs, menues, everything larger to encompass the larger font. That is a huge amount of work, they would essentially have to redo the whole UI (and if they're at it anyway they might as well redo it from scratch, meaning it would be an even bigger undertaking).
You know what would give exactly the same result for a minimal amount of work?
Lower the resolution!
If you're having trouble reading the small font, I'm sure you won't be noticing the lower resolution on the graphics anyway. And as an added bonus, the game will run better with less pixels to draw. Ok, so some font elements are still crappy, but at least you will be able to read it.

Good luck with this one, ive been trying to get CCP to address this issue for quite a while now with little success.
According to GM Octavia you will need to put this in the ideas discussion section since "the GMS read it" ???
You should also get in touch with the CSM and get someone to "take up the case" 
I have decided to take a different approach which revolves around this:-
GM Octavia states in his mail to myself "quite a few CCP employees suffer eyesight problems using the overview" and yet CCP as an employer will do nothing to solve this problem for its customers and more importantly its employees, thus they are breaking european disability and access laws for which Iceland has signed up to.
I have been to busy in rl to investigate, collate and gather this information since it makes pretty dry reading, but once the summer ends and i have more time i plan to follow this issue up and make this company responsible for the health of its employees and customers alike.
Increasing the overview font is no different to providing access to your company building to wheelchairs, its just CCP dosn't seem like it wants the hassle tbh.

Bumpadibump!
Monitors gettin bigger, dot pitch gettin smaller,
but our eyes doesn't grow younger.
Younglings may shout: "Wear binoculars!!!", or something,
but sooner or latter they too will experience what eye strain is.

Hm.. I think the latest patch messed with the fonts.. at least chat input fields are now bugged in smallest font settings for me.. already bugreported.
If the bugs, which crept up with the last patch are 'just' a taste of what's to come once CCP even slightly touches the UI god help us.

This should be done the font really is not too good for your eyes.
