Alright, i installed the whole test-client from the download-section. Atleast this seems to work. For people having problems with the eve.exe i uploaded it here: http://ul.to/ngkrqz

I've DLed it twice, it gets to "downloading patch days 0%" and then just hangs- won't cancel or close normally.
Could possibly be a conflict with a new router(?), the last few times I ran it, it seemed to actually affect other things, like web browser windows not updating until the sisi patcher was killed.

Having trouble getting onto the test server. I downloaded the newest installer and when I try to login it tells me connection failed and "not accepting connections" in the message box. I checked with some corp mates and they could login to the server. Running Win Vista Home Premium all software is up to date. It it possibly pointing to the wrong server and do I correct?
Thanks

I got the not accepting connections thing too, did you perhaps change your password in the past 2 months? Because the mirror the test server is on is from early august. After I used my old password it all worked just fine.
Aside from that one problem the launcher has worked quite well for me, updated a TQ copy to SiSi without hassle.

The launcher doesn't work for me at all.
Vista 64 Ultimate Edition.
It copies my main game folder, then downloads the updates. Then, about 25% through the checksum, it just hangs, and won't respond.
I've tried several things to get it to work, no luck.

Well the launcher itself works but DAHUM does it take a LONG time to check, download, check, update, check, update, triplecheck , fix. I had to wait for about 30-45 mins to finally have the sisi build up to date and be able to log on. And it wasn't that old of a build to begin with. Apparantly it actually goes over the entire directory to check for updatables but it also does a 100% check of each component. Instead it would be much quicker to do a precheck on the first bytes of the build so it knows it has to update or look further. ___________

That's kind of the idea. The updater has to go through every file, otherwise you would end up with out of date art and audio assets. The tool is designed to handle any permutation of source files, and that flexibility comes at the cost of time.

run the logserver when starting the client. That might give more insight into why you can't connect.

I understand that much, but wouldn't it just be quicker to have the launcher do;
Version x.x.x. Check for patch different from x.x.x. Patch x.xx.x found, download and apply. EvE SiSi startup.
Or have it indeed check the first few bytes of a file for a footprint. If that footprint is different from what it now should be the file updates. If it's the same the file gets skipped. I'd think you'd save 50% of the time needed to update.

I was really looking forward to using this program, because I've had many problems getting Sisi to work in the past, but unfortunately, it does not seem to work. The first time I ran it, the copying of the Tranquility client went well, as did the checks of the files. However after that, downloading the files times out. Every time the client runs now, I get the following text:
Quote: start time: 20101014 19:47:12 python version: 2.5.4 (r254:67916, Dec 23 2008, 15:10:54) [MSC v.1310 32 bit (Intel)] Build folder Info: usescriptindexfiles: 1 appname: EVE region: ccp sync: 186485 server: Tranquility edition: premium version: 6.31 role: client build: 185699 branch: //depot/games/EVE-RELEASE/eve aid: 0 __name__: main codename: EVE-EVE-RELEASE port: 26000 cryptopack: CryptoAPI patch url: http://content.eveonline.com/test/PatchData_190536.dat Checksumming client: 0.0%, 0.0 bytes/5.75 GB, 0.0 bytes/s, 00m00s Downloading index: 0.0%, 0.0 bytes/67.62 KB, 0.0 bytes/s, 00m00s Downloading index: 100.0%, 67.62 KB/67.62 KB, 10.64 KB/s, 00m01s Downloading Patch Data: 0.0%, 0.0 bytes/509.11 MB, 0.0 bytes/s, 00m00s
and after some time, the screen closes without an error or anything happening, and I'm back at the start screen.
I've added the program to Windows Firewall and made sure BITS service was running in the background (since I believe that's used for file transfer), but it doesn't seem to help.
Any suggestions? _____________________________________

Same problem as you except I can download SOME of the patch then it freezes at roughly 80% then dies, no error message no nothing then I restart nd the same things happens AGAIN etc etc.
I had to wait a REALLY long time ( and several times I received erro408 and had to restart again and again) but the patching seems to be related to amount of traffic the server can handle.

Well i downloaded the new version through the autotool and it updated just fine. I had to restart the sisi launcher though since it went into a check loop after the update each time i clicked Play on singularity. Only a small issue which should be easily fixed i guess

COME ON CCP
What the hell is wrong with your singularity update tool? I have re-downlaoded it several times I have run it 8 different times and STILL the same thing over and over again. It tries to downland a 41.15 MB patch and FAILS at 80.5%
There is no logserver to start there is no information given it just STOPS.
In addition to that it also pegs my CPU at about 65 - 75% and just hangs. I have left it as long as 4 hours with no change or as short as 5 minutes.
What is going on with this tool?
If it IS supposed to be something that we use tell us, if it is NOT something that we should use anymore, SAY SOMETHING. Since the incursion info started coming out I ahve tried every day to get on the server with 0 luck.

Ok so the launcher copied tranq and patched to sisi fine but when I try and launch the splash screen comes up stays for a moment then closes. At this point the login screen should come up but nothing happens. Sisilauncher keeps me happy. It worked every time for me.
Only slight quibble I have is that it is indeed very slow. I missed most of yesterday's Mass Test because it took over 45 minutes to update.
I suppose just taking MD5 checksums of whole files isn't good enough to know whether a file needs a more thorough checkup?

By reading the previous topics I've got the impression that SISI Launcher is very slow, because of the complex checks it performs...
Ok, but it seems the tool does not work quite as expected.
My HW config: Core i7 @ 3.6Ghz (OC) 12GB 1800MHz DDR3 RAM Sapphire HD5870 Toxic 2GB GDDDR5 4 x 32GB Intel X25E Enterprise SLC SSD in RAID 0 (Adaptec 5405 Server RAID Adapter) - for system disk 100Mbps Fiber Connection (dedicated corporate link).
My SW config: Windows 7 x64 ATI Catalyst 10.10 User: Local Administrator Current SISI Build 190536
What happens after I start the tool: 1. First, I click "Fix Singularity Client" and the tools starts "Singularity Client Updater v.3.09" 2. The Checksum Check takes approx. 30 seconds @ 220-240MB/s (I have EVE & EVETest installed on a 4 x Intel X25E SSDs with Adapatec 5405 Server RAID adapter) 3. After the Checksum Check, the "SISI Client Updater" starts to download some indexes and finally the patch data - it starts, but it hangs...0 CPU utilization of the process, VERY minimal I/O activity of the process (Task Manager stats). It hangs for 10-15 minutes, while the status is "Downloading Patch Data: 100.0%, 171.0 bytes/171.0 bytes, 34.2 bytes/s, 00m00s", the progress bar is 100% green. 4. After the "hang", "SISI Client Updater" closes and I "SISI Launcher" window is enabled again. 5. Then I click "Click to play EVE on Singularity" button and the "SISI Client Updater" starts all over again...
This is my third attempt to use the SISI Launcher Tool to update the test client and so far the success rate is 0%
P.S. Anyway, Copy & Paste of the TQ EVE Folder over SISI EVE Folder takes 30-40 seconds for me, but it would have been great if the tool worked seamlessly...

Same problem here as well. After starting the sisilauncer, i click the "Click to play EVE on Singularity" button, and the updater pops up and checks the client. First time it updated the client but now it just finds out its ok, but it won't launch the client.
Work around for me seams to manual navigate to the eve sis client and launch eve.exe, client works fine and I can log on to sisi. After that the sisilauncer tool is works correct again, and the "Click to play EVE on Singularity" button launches the eve client directly without checking the client first.

Version 1.12 doesn't work (for me): When I press on "Fix Singularity Client" or "Play EVE on Singularity", the updater window appears and disappears immediately, the client starts and tells me I've got the wrong version.
Spamming the "Fix Client" button and trying to make something out of the flashy window gave me a glimpse of the error that gets listed - something along the line of "Object of NoneType has no len" or something - can't read the stack trace though.
Is there a way to have that log as text file as well, for easier debugging? :)
Gladly, the first post in this thread still got the link to 1.11 :)
