Lets j7st start some hypothesizing, Forumgoers. I have a three man fleet. We're roaming lowsec, looking for a fight. if one ship is a Sacrilege, what other two ships would you use? Ares? Guardian? I want to know.

Guardians work in pairs+, bang goes your dps. Try a Curse and a DPS BC/BS, the Sac is bait/heavy tackler. But then I'm not a lowsec man so maybe you need a nimbler tackler or cloaky recon to not put people off. |

all those suggestions are terrible under sentry fire, so it really depends on if you're talking about war targets/faction warfare or not. If you're aggressing neutrals then i'd suggest a HIC and dps like say a battleship. -------------------------- F5F5F5F5F5F5F5 |

You really need some alts to scout for you, both to find targets and avoid blobbage. Flying t2 ships on a small roam is asking to lose some isk.
Unless you really like the sac I'd drop it and go for 3 teir 2 bc's
Shield gank harb / canes or drakes
Cheap, reasonably fast, plently of dps most importantly fun, well the harbs / canes anyway.

The sac is a really tough ship to fit into a well thought-out gang as I see it. It's a "brick", which is to say that they are generally much better defensively than offensively. It is also a t2 cruiser, which means it might draw more fire than ships that make for less attractive killmails (not as much as faction ships of course, but still).
So, I think there are two ways to go.
1) Bait with Sac, support with high dps. The two other ships should have a high potential tank and damage, like HAM drakes, bulk armor canes or tier 1 BS (with the exception of the scorpion). Note, this works if you are the aggressors and the enemy wants to fight as well - just so long as the sac starts out on the field alone with the enemies, they have no choice but to shoot it, initially.
2) Instead of using the sac to draw heat, use another ship for bait and fit the Sac as offensively as possible. That is, you would use a ship that is normally considered a better primary than a sac, like a harbinger, a cane or a brutix for instance and tanking that as much as you can. That ship then grabs aggro before having the sac and the third ship come in. Since the sac is commonly known to be a brick, it is unlikely to draw fire and can apply its dps for a long time. This is a bit of a gambit strategy since the bait needs to draw fire or your gang is in severe trouble. This depends a bit on the third ship though, which could be anything with enough dps and a repute for being a brick (HAM drake or shield myrm for instance).
You'll note that the ships I would use are fairly similar. No dedicated tackle, logistics or Ewar. Mostly I prefer this approach because of the way novice pvp'ers obsess about numbers. The amount of people in your gang determines your "footprint" in the space you are in - if you have three people, that is largely what people have to go on before you are spotted. This means that by shaving off everything that isn't backbone type ships, you get a lot of punch in those three ships. They might have roughly the same amount of backbone ships as you, and then a few tacklers, but once the fighting starts those tacklers are right about useless. And yet they might well choose to engage because they have 5 and you have 3. Of course, tacklers or probers help immensely if you are looking to engage people that do not want to fight you, but again once you are fighting people that want to fight you, they wont be doing much.
