Yeah, put Eve Online's lore in Hideaki Anno's hands, with a script by George RR Martin, and wait for magic to happen. |

sure they would, if they could afford it...
I do hope that it's made with the aid of a sensible director, it's so easy to make bad movies of video games
and definitely not one from scandinavia, their movies are always so cold That is all. |

I reckon a EvE movie would be like a cross between Lexx and Firefly.
DUST will be a Starship Troopers element of the movie.

Personally i would want to see the short story where you have have the rebellion start against the ammar and the gal/caldari war... with the jove in the back ground pulling the stirings... |

The Apostle wrote:I just spent the last hour checking out some of the CCP trailers. As a huge sci-fi buff (as many Eve players would also be) I realised just how much I miss the great space epics of the 70's and 80's.
For mine, some of the Eve clips are just staggering and if they were ever made movie length it'd do more for subs than any tweak could ever do. Movie takings alone would bring some nice coin.
Is CCP ever going to do such a project?
Would you go and watch it?
Why dont you make one? Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless your from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs. |

I think a movie based on Empyrean Age would be great.
Live action, animation, or CGI...I'd take 'em all. Even something like Star Wars' Clone Wars animated series would be cool...or how about something like Animatrix?
I'd really like to see something more Eve-related on the big screen or even just cable television. Star Trek is probably the most overrated sci-fi series ever made aside from the very first one, yet it's worth billions. A small, niche program about the Eve universe would be fantastic.
Either bring back Firefly or make something Eve-related. We demand it. |

Actually, I would want to see a Culture movie before I would want to see an EVE one. CSM do you think? No matter the changes, high sec people chose the safests. Lots of stick and they will leave. Half the problem is the players in null sec; we do not want to be there with you. |

Eve Online - The Rise of the Republic
Plot - A movie based on the Amarr / Minmatar Rebellion
Eve Online - Division
Plot - A movie based on the Gallente/Caldari Divide
Eve Online - Revenge Best Served Cold
Plot - A movie based on the fall and resurrection of Sansha
could steal some cutscenes from Skyline when it comes to Sansha abducting people off planets Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless your from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs. |

Sci-fi particularly space operas tend to make poor movies. If you go to video rental site and look up the sci-fi catagory you will see lots and lots of bad movies. In truth movies like Blade Runner, 2001, Star Wars are the exception. Even Star Trek, arguably the biggest sci-fi franchise of them all has made some stinkers. Personally I think it's a genre more suited to TV. It allows it the time to develop the story and the characters, so long as the show doesn't get cancelled. |

Even though an eve movie kind of sounds like a joke I must say I'd much rather see an eve movie or miniseries than DUST or WoD.
Stories of different capsuleers and maybe even non-capsuleers. And it should be dark enough to be taken "seriously" (how seriously can you take internet spaceships on film) and should be different from clear skies.
There's A LOT of material a good writer could use in eve. The history, the wars, the professions. The biggest mistake would be trying to compress it all into one movie really. It's a fun idea. Better than dress up microtransactionvampires anyway. |

Looks at Squaresoft's foray into movies. Yeah go ahead CCP, the precedent for gaming companies making hit movies is really solid. No one wants to play with their expensive toys. This needs fixing. |

The Animatrix style would be really fitting. It wouldn't necessarily be a full-length movie, but the disjointed vignette style would echo the Chronicles we already have and allow the film to skip through time and touch on a number of historically significant events (which, again, is in keeping with some of the Chronicles).
And CCP has proven they're much better at CGI shorts than live action, so there's that. |
